Anyone go?

I went and man was I pissed that she didn't come on stage till after 10.... when the ticket said 8. Opening act was Paul Oakenfold who is cool but in a less than half filled venue with no room to dance and no party drugs he's not that much fun to watch.

HAve to admit Madge was good but I bet a lot of babysitters made good money on those two nights..... tons of older ladies,

I took Jennifer McQueen. I was told Paul Oakenfold is one of the top five DJs in the world. I liked him since at least it was all danceable. Madonna played a lot of new material which was 'dark'. I think people wanted to hear more of her danceable stuff. She still looks great and the show was quite the spectacle.

Here below are some pics from my BB. I'll post some from my camera.

Musically irrelevant.

Of no consequence whatsoever to the musical soundscape of today or any other day.
Perhaps (and more evident as time goes one), but one of the biggest selling female artists of all time, or at least, the 1st or biggest female superstar?

To be honest her new songs which I was not familar with were pretty good. And she put twists on her classics to modernize them.

And she is still relevant because when you have stars like Lady Gaga she gets compared to Madonna. That would not be the case if she was not relevant anymore.

If you can tour and fill stadiums charging 350 a seat for anything below the 300s and 175 for the 300s and higher of the ACC you are relevant.

As for Paul Oakenfold..... I knew who he is and was not impressed. I found that he used a number of top 40 samples which I thought were cheap attempts to play to the crowd and not a true reflection of him playing stuff that he likes. The screen saver style show on the vid screens during his set looked amatuer and the camera work of him and the crowd was shit. The had hard zooms rather than smooth transitions when zooming in on the crowd (not the case with Madonna). I found he came across as corny and I used to be into club djs in the 90s.

You may not like her music, fine. But she is clearly one of the most influential musicians of the past 30 years. You may not like that, but it's true.

Her show was not that of a dinosaur plodding along doing the same schtick that they were famous for 20 years ago. The show did not look or sound dated..... and I'm not even a fan.

In fact she didn't do what I expected. I assumed it would be a greatest hits type show..... and while she played a lot of the favourites she mixed in new stuff as well. The dance, choreography, effects were not of someone going through the motions but someone trying to put on the best show they can.

Only thing that could have improved her show was starting earlier or telling us that she was going to go on so late.

Ya, I was gonna say that she's still relevant. Her new music has obviously matured but I understand where Senor Draper is coming from.

Paul wasn't gonna play hardcore house. He had to appeal to a larger crowd. The folks around me at the ACC Restaurant were jiggling and a moving including myself and Jennifer McQueen.

I knew she was starting late cuz I dined at the ACC Restaurant who first said she'd come on at 9:30 pm before the day, then 10:00pm on the day. I always ask if there's an opening act.

Most shows that start at 7:30 or 8:00 pm don't start until 45 minutes later, at the earliest in all of my experiences.

If you were waiting in your seats with nothing to do, that's a bitch.
