In presence of even of tiny bit of insulin all fat burning hormones is shut down!
What does it means " shut down" ? It means even if you consume a half of glass juice or glass of wine or a bagel..even a piece of fruit..if you have a problem with this hormone " insulin" ...you going have a problem of losing weight for the next 28 hours!

Bottom line insulin goes up means you will gain weight!!
Insulin is produced in presence of glucose ( sugar or carbs)... The hormone for fat Burning is turn off!
So go low carbs and low sugar!

This is exact the same biological mechanism which Doctor Berg mention in his video.

Forget or ignore what Dr Berg trying to sell you.

It is a fact that the pancreas produces insulin in healthy individuals, constantly. If there is no insulin, there are problems, such as is the case with type-1 diabetics. Anyone who claims otherwise is full of shit, and knows nothing about the human body.

Without insulin, you can’t even burn fats.

Personal experience: I lost 50lbs (250 down to 200) by limiting carbs to 700-800 grams a week. I lost the wt at a rate of 2-3 lbs a week.

Ideally, you should measure your carbs, meal after meal, but I didn't do that. Or rather, I didn't do it once I'd got a "feel" for what 700-800 grams a week is actually like.

I did it by cutting back on pasta, rice, potatoes, bread (including pastry, cakes, etc), and sugar itself (ice cream, soft drinks, etc). Don't eat anything that doesn't look like food (e.g nothing processed, nothing that comes in a packet or cardboard box.)

I ate all the meat I wanted, and as much fresh fruit and veg as I wanted.
I didn't cut out the starchy foods altogether -- but I found if I constantly aimed to cut them out -- I stayed within 700-800 grams a week, really without any problem.
I didn't exercise.
And I've kept it off.

Ok thanks...key is low carbs and low sugar. Guess eat some fruits & lot vegatable & protein. No junk food ("chips , candy , chocolates, fruit juice / soft drinks, & ice cream & beer & alcohol & pizza & most processed food")
Thank will keep your insulin level from spike too high and hopefully it body will go into ketosis ( fat burn state) .

I think you and I agree. A balanced approach is the best one. Of course, we need to know the right balance, and there are both good and bad guides. The Keto diet appears at this time to be a good one. But, there are also vegan diets that are good choices, too, especially for diabetics. Lots of research is being done all the time on good diets, not fad diets, but legitimate ones.

Just about everything has carbs and sugar. And also these types of things are cheap, make you full and tasty as hell.

I've never been able to do it. But those of you out there who have the willpower to stay away from bread, candy, potatoes and such, kudos.

And alternative is to stay away from all or most dairy products. Despite it's image of being healthy, dairy products have lots of calories and sugar. Cut back on milk, cheese, sugary yogurt and you'll lose some pounds.

A glass of milk has as much or more calories than a can of pop or a beer.

You also have to look at the nature of the ‘sugars’. With milk, it is lactose. Is that a complex sugar? Can you substitute whole grains for processed white flour-containing items? Look up glycemic index, to see how blood sugar levels rise with certain foods.

Do not eliminate carbs completely, as some fake practitioners recommend. Dr. Atkins encouraged complex carbs as found in veggies, and high fibre foods. It is not as simple as eliminating one food component. If one does that, there is the potential to do damage to the body.

You're confusing ketosis with ketoacidosis.
The first is healthy and the second dangerous.

A smarter plan than just completely cutting carbs. Whatever change you make needs to be sustainable.

Nope, not related to Ketoacidosis or ketosis.

If you eat too much proteins, your kidneys could deteriorate. Uric acid crystals make extremely painful kidney stones, for one. And, there might be further complications.

My point is, not to exaggerate, and to be careful what you eat. If you must eat carbs, eat complex carbs and fibre. They do not spike your blood sugar levels and actually help your digestive system. The real Atkins diet had it right, not the fake ones that followed it.
