In a place far, far away
Toronto roads and TTC also receive funding from the Government of Ontario tax revenue . So that's everyone in Ontario contributing to ALL roads and public transit in Ontario.
The funding was collected via the vehicle permit. When that was scrapped guess what else happened.

McCowan & Kingston Rd. A great area and lots of fun😃
Donny Peterson's Heavy Duty Cycles was my favorite place to hang in that area.

What happened to the Cadillac hanging above Caddy’s strip club when it was torn down?
Is it in someone’s rec room?
Ahhhh....all the memories of bouncing heads off sidewalks there lol.

Born and raised - right at the corner of Midland and Eglinton is where I spent most of days.
A friend was in a horrific motorcycle accident at that corner. A left turn in front of him. He lived but never the same. That was 30 years ago. The traffic now and unskilled drivers in that area makes it even more scarier.

I'm sure this will offend people but why would someone donate to Scarborough Hospital if they will never use it? If you live in Mississauga why donate to a hospital in Scarborough?
I don't donate to fully funded government organizations.
This.
Also the 1% mentioned is low but the big T.O. hospitals pull in huge amounts of donations. Mississauga hospitals do well with donations as well.
Scarborough residents need to step up.

Good ad though because it points to the fact that a lot of their residents don't have money to donate. It will probably be effective.

That's a misconception. Most hospitals rely heavily on private donations for capital requirement's such as equipment (MRI's etc.). In theory the government pays for operating costs, of course the Fed have not paid their fair share of raising costs for some time now.

On the highway of life
Thats it mate :ROFLMAO: - went to Glen Ravine Junior Public School - then hit Charles Gordon and then made my way to Midland Avenue Collegiate. Great memories on Gilder - great place to grow up.
I went to Birch Cliff Heights, we were bussed to Chuck Gordon for Home Ec and Woodworking in grade 8.

It sounds like the Scarborough hospitals do not receive as many private donations as their counterparts in other regions; but why is that? Is Scarborough poor compared to other regions in the GTA? Or are the Scarborough Hospitals less competent at fundraising than their rivals at other GTA hospitals?

To me, this reflects a larger problem in how our healthcare system is funded. All hospitals depend on private donations as part of their budget so the hospitals are all placed in the position of literally having to compete with one another for the same group of donors (especially the more affluent ones).

That’s why these commercials kinda rub me the wrong way- it seems like an escalation in fundraising tactics to “poach” donations from other regions. But again, it’s hard to fault them given that this is the system they have been given to work with.

This ad is probably targeting current and former residents of Scarborough. There seems to be quite few current and/or former residents of Scarborough on this Board.

There is one bit in the ad that states (oh, never mind).

Saw the ad again to-day and yesterday and the day before. Seems like it's been running forever.

The feds will give more money when the province is willing to show how it will spend that money. It will make the province accountable.
