Is the message here that Scarborough hospital(s) don't get their "fair share" of private donations?

I've seen this commercial on TV many times. Maybe you have as well. Looks like it is trying to shame people into making more donations. Who's paying for this commercial? Air time is probably not free.

On the other hand, I've seen Sick Kid Hospital canvassers many times on street corners canvassing for donations.

Disclosure: Never lived in and rarely go to Scarborough.

I've spent my fair share of family time at Scarborough...the Cathedral Bluffs and Scarborough Bluffs I used to bring my family from time to time...such a beautiful place....probably the only gem the city has...everything else is meh...my peeve about Scarborough is that most people seem to think jaywalking is normal...most don't use pedestrian lanes...

I'm sure this will offend people but why would someone donate to Scarborough Hospital if they will never use it? If you live in Mississauga why donate to a hospital in Scarborough?
I don't donate to fully funded government organizations.

Hospitals aren’t fully funded, that is the problem.

People who live in the GTA cover the full cost to maintain the Gardener and DVP via their taxes.. Someone who doesn’t pay Toronto taxes drive on it for free.

A large portion of the cost to main the TTC is covered by Toronto taxpayers. That $3.25 non Toronto taxpayers pay per ride covers the cost of rat traps.

Toronto roads and TTC also receive funding from the Government of Ontario tax revenue . So that's everyone in Ontario contributing to ALL roads and public transit in Ontario.

I was thinking the same thing. The first few times I saw that commercial I didn't understand why they were saying Scarborough was treated "unfairly".

It's the same with private donations to universities. I donate to McGill, UofT and Western. I have never donated anything to the university formerly named Ryerson.
