Paying $20+shipping to Apple seems a little ridiculous.

Best Buy and Future Shop aren't far behind.

I do go through screen protectors on my iPod Touch (1st Gen) about two or three times a year. Everytime I destroy a protector I'm thankful it was the protector and not the screen itself though. :)

Is there a "hidden gem" third party vendor that sells these things cheaper and are decent quality?

I thank you for your recommendations.

Maybe because I haven't dropped it since I bought it sometime last year but I haven't seen the need for a screen protector yet. When I did have one temporarily I'll admit it never looked smudged and my finger would always glide more smoothly across the screen.

The pac mall joint one is the virtually the same price $10. The apple store one is $20... for 2. THe only difference is that the apple store one is of higher quality. I used the pac mall one and she put it on and everything but it collects fingerprints way too easy, so now I use the apple store one.
