If I was stuck on a desert island I would like the New York Public Library and a librarian that looked like Dani....

yeah,

come to think of it, if stuck on the island, and I couldn't have that librarian, I guess I'd need some porn. (just wondering if that, in the long run, woudn't be a bad idea though.....)

Yeah, Lord of the Rings is an excellent recommendation. What about some fiction books by that guy that wrote the book that Starship Troopers is based on? If you ever played Halo, you could try picking those up as well. Either way after you read the book you can watch the movie, or play the game in Halo's case.

Slothien you're too much man! Stop playing WoW!! LMAO

Not written by an SP, but I'd recommend anything written by John LeCarré for entertainment. I've read four of his books this year ("Mission House" "Single & Single" "The Constant Gardener" and "Absolute Friends")

Two other really, really excellent books I read this year were Pete Dexter's "Train" and Mo Hayder's "The Devil of Nanking."

If you're into erotica, you can do no better than Anne-Marie Villenfranche's collections of stories. She wrote them in the 20s for her own amusement. They were later found by her granddaughter who got them published. I've never read such excellent erotica. Her grasp of the differences between men and women -- and her love of irony -- is priceless! I have always written a lot of erotica myself, but after reading her, I stopped dead in my tracks in awe. She's amazing!

Two novels I like which have both a Canadian and a First World War theme are: Hugh MacLennan's Barometer Rising and Robert MacNeil's Burden of Desire.

I love this novel. A friend thinks I am very much like Dagny Taggart. This book isn't for everyone and it took me over a year to read it the first time (then again I was 15 at the time) as it takes a long while before the pace of the book begins.

I am currently reading a very interesting book called Pimp by Iceberg Slim (http://www.popsubculture.com/pop/bio_project/iceberg_slim.html) which is a very good light read. Although the discussion of his youth is very disturbing is turns into a page turner very quickly.

Another one of my favourites is The Happy Hooker by Xaviera Hollander. Simply great.

Not about the sex industry, but Life of Pi is IMHO, the best book I've read, and I've read more than a few.........

If you are looking for brainless escape that is easy to read, try Stephen King.

If you are looking for something that is easy to read, but has some interesting social commentary to make you think, try Hunter S Thompson.

If you want something entertaining and challenges your view of society, try Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

If you want to read American Literature and be challenged in your reading ability, try Edgar Allen Poe.

Want something light and fluffy, try Ian Flemming's James Bond. Or the "Inspector West" series by John Creasey.

"Starship Troopers" was by Robert A Heinlein. http://www.iblist.com/author113.htm I highly recomment his "future history" works. "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" is one of his better known books. Again, look for social commentary in his works. He tends towards being an anarchist.

I just finished my book, callgirl. It took me a long time to finish it lol but I'm glad I did. I loved it and learnt a lot of new things in the escort world from the SP's perspective.

Now to find a new book!
