Lolita - Definition - Is it illegal?

The dicitonary defines "lolita" as a seductive adolescent.

By adolescent, it is implying that it is illegal, in Canada anyways. However, there are many web sites and escorts who say they are lolitas, but that doesn't make them illegal.

What is your opinion?

I thought the age of consent in Canada was 16. Aren't you still an adolescent at 16? I don't know.

And as for using "lolita" in the name, well, I think "lolita" can be an attitude and like the other poster said, doesn't have to be taken so literally.

The word 'lolita' has no meaning under the law, so a fifty year-old dwarf is free to use it to describe herself.

As far as the Internet goes, I believe Canadian law is in step with most other Western countries in that it is illegal not only to use models that are under the age of 18, but to depict them as being younger than 18. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding of the law.

The age of consent for consensual sex is actually 14 (believe it or not). They were talking about raising it to 16 but have since dropped the idea as that would make relationships between some teens illegal. Of course you can not be in a "position of authority" over the individual or that makes it illegal until they become 18. Personally I think 14 is too young (although I have known some pretty mature 14 year olds). My own self, I draw the line at 18.
