Just found out that all of their locations have closed with bankruptcy notices on the doors. Website is offline.

Bummer. I've been going to them for years.

Looks like Tiger Direct and Canada Computers finally did them in.

I'm really not surprised about this. IMO they never really competed in the PC parts market like Canada Computers did. Their store fronts were pathetic (to say the least) and I never found them to be in locations that promoted high customer traffic.

For eg: the one on Dundas west of 427 didn't have parking out front, and unless you were really really looking for it, you'd drive right by.

Still, it's sad to see a company go under but when I was at CC not long ago, they were getting out of the "modding" parts. Seems not many are doing it anymore. Probably why BigFoot went out of business as well......

I wonder what the liquidation process will be?

I liked them for small stuff like cables. Bought a couple of corporate castoffs with no trouble as well.

I never had any problems with Logic. And they helped me out a couple times when I was having technical problems.

No complaints from me.

The problem with CC is that it seems to be staffed by a bunch of kids and I don't like the idea of leaving my computer repairs to them. Logic had techs who really seemed to know what they were doing.

Any local computer store should be able to service most problems. Next time you see one in your neighborhood, pop in and find out what they're like.

Just stay away from Tiger Direct, Best Buy and other big box stores.

Here's a follow up question.. what rates are being charged at the recommended stores? I heard Apple stores charge a small fortune.

But they had moved to a new location west of Dixie, the store was newer and ALOT neater.

an era gone

I'd best describe Logic as the leading parts store in GTA up to the late 90s and early 2000's.

Canada Computers is definitely the reining king now with their many locations. CC customer service has vastly improved and someone has clearly been working on their marketing strategy since this early decade.

There are many up and comer/one offs but CC has them beat with their multi-store coverage.

Surprisingly, tigerdirect occasionally has a better deal once in a while but not nearly as consistently as CC.

It used to be my 1st choice for parts but their web site and selection just started to pale in comparison to Canada computers. I just stay away from CC on weekends.

I got tired of calling LCH ahead of time for stock checks and getting the "we might get some thursday..." type responses. That's almost as anoying as getting called honey repeatedly by a Chinese SP.

I always found them to be good in buying small cables and OEM software. They did not gouge the price like all the other retailers. I will sadly miss them for that purpose. I bought a Hard Drive and LCD monitor from the dundas location in march 2008, do I have any place I can go to if I get problems with these hardware parts?

I'll second the pccanada.com store recommendation. I have bought from them for several years now and never had any problems.

Returns or exchanges were always honoured, staff are great, no bullshit, no pressure, and they know their products. Can't say the same about CC.

Most of the stock at CC is either opened, has been returned, refurbished or just looks like it literally fell off a truck.

Just take it to the manufacturer. I'm not sure about Logic, but Canada Computers only gives 3 months inhouse warranty on major components.

another good alternative store to Logic Computer House is ICCT. check out their web site. Whenever I used to go to the Logic Computer House store in Markham, I would also visit ICCT and see what their prices were. Many times they were cheaper than LCH
