The first serious injury happened yesterday when a man was struck by molten lava that had blown into the air. Apparently hit him below the knee and basically pulverized his shin and foot. There's a new warning too about toxic gases and fine glass shards - created when the lava hits the ocean. Usually the saying is that a Hawaiian volcano creates emergencies which you can walk away from. But this seems to be a little more serious. Still only affecting parts of the South East section of the Island though.
