The most notorious pedophiles in recent years, Warren Jeffs, get his just rewards for rape young girls. Before CM chirps up, Jeffs is just an evil man, certainly not a prophet, who thought he was a above the law. Even the boys in Salt Lake City and Bountiful have turned their backs on him.

There is a GAWD or at least justice.

He originated diaries and other evidence that proved he knew what he was doing was wrong. He even wrote something to the effect, if the outside world knew what I was doing - I'd be strung up from a tree.

One sickening item that came out of this was that in order to pacify fathers giving them their daughter, he would arrange for them to get their own young wife.

It sounded more like it shared more with an Internet pedo group than it did a religion. I hope he rots in jail.

So when his life is over and he's dead, do they have to keep him in a cell and offer him three squares—which he will undoubtedly not accept—and an hour of exercise daily for twenty years before they can release him for someone to bury?

There may be both GAWD and justice both, but common sense and truth in sentencing would be nice too. Especially if we want other loonies and pervs to pay useful attention to this sorta thing.

Maybe the extra 20 is to make the point at which parole has to be considered move out. Our lawyer members can clear that one up. i haven't 'no chance of parole' mentioned so who knows.

You have to be alawyer to invent a sentence like that. Life plus 20 years. No wonder there is a great demand for lawyers.

Life without parole in the states means exactly that. No chance for parole ever. If only they did that here! Here a life sentence is 20 or 25 years with the parole option always. By adding the 20 years to the sentence, they're making sure he will never get out even if he lives until 90. We're too soft here, too generous.

Think of it in terms of "reductions" for such things as "good behaviour": even if some idiot Judge were to say that he were eligible for a reduced sentence, the "life plus" would be reduced to "life".

I have always thought that these religious cults and sects (or whatever) where just a excuse for old guys to fuck young women.

They are a lot of cults that this happens (e.g. Raelian, Manson, etc) - it does not always target kids.

Bang on Petzel, you tell 'em!

You could always emulate California where today they spend far MORE on their Prison System than Education! The results, they fill up newly built prisons as fast as they build 'em!....:eyebrows:

One more pedophile in jail for a long, long time. If they can put guys like him away, then build a dozen more jails.

We assume an edophile is one of those guys obsessed with the education he didn't get. See the post above about California's enlightened spending of more for prisons than schools.

CNN did an expose on this guy. Amazingly, he has his supporters.

What was scary is this pedophile POS had powerful conservative contacts who knew what he was doing and just looked the other way!....

close but not quite.

San Angelo, Texas (CNN) -- Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison plus 20 years for sexually assaulting two girls he claimed were his "spiritual wives."
Jeffs, 55, will have to spend at least 45 years in prison before being eligible for release, according to Jerry Strickland, spokesman for the Texas Attorney General's office.
The jury sentenced Jeffs to life in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl and 20 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl. He must serve at least 35 years of the life sentence and half of the other sentence, Strickland said. The judge in the case ordered that the sentences be served consecutively.

Great, so if he gets raised as a zombie, in 20 years we will have zombies running around.
