Actually, SPs were widely available during the Victorian era (i.e. Jack the Ripper).

I am neither Conservative nor Liberal. I think for myself. [Which means I am definatly not NDP or Green]

The parties will promise any idiotic, useless, morally wrong or even destructive crap to get elected. Forunatly there is the rare time that they actually either break a promise or out of the blue do the right thing, in which case all the sheeple get upset and bleat on.

I had examples typed up, but then some sheeple who has never heard of the MST for example, would type up some ignorent drivil with their hooves and it would just sicken or anger me more.

I don't know what makes me want to vomit more, voters or the people who pander to them.

Actually, you should have added:

socialist ie NDP
environmentalist ie Green
Libertarian
National Socialist
Neo Fascist (you know who you are)
communist (different from socialist)
and
Rhino
There is no National Socalist party in Canada, I doubt it would be legal unless they were strictly not anti semetic.
There are two Communist parties, the communist party and the communist party M-L. IIRC the split came with either the Maoists or the Stalinists breaking off from the main party.
Rhino party hasen't run in ages.
Libertarian party is back but even more of a joke then usual.
No Neo Fascist party, or anything even close to it in Canada, there are a few in the states, including a Falangist party [sp] based on Francos thing.
If anyone cared to do a fuller poll, one could get a complete list from elections canada or the wikipedia.

Don't forget the National Socialist Libertarian Green Party, nazi.org
They actually somehow managed to combine these very different elements together rather well. Granted there is no way to actually join the party, they don't run in any elections, don't ask for donations and are genereally considered to be a joke web page by those who have done the time and effort to look into it. Which is odd, because whoever is really behind it has put a LOT of thought into it.

Maybe the Ripper was OJ's grandfather?
lol ... nah, the Ripper had more class

Also, the Victorian era was the last time the US experimented with legalized prostitution in large cities such as New Orleans and New York.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storyville

Storyville was the legalized prostitution district of New Orleans, Louisiana from 1897 through 1917.

Between 1895 and 1915, "blue books" were published in Storyville. These books were guides to prostitution for visitors to the district's services including house descriptions, prices, particular services, and the "stock" each house had to offer. The Storyville blue-books were inscribed with the motto: "Order of the Garter: Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense (Evil to Him Who Evil Thinks.)"
A predecessor to TERB, perhaps?

I didn't vote Liberal, but I'll bet my bucks that Rae won't win. Kennedy gave a good speech last night IMO.

Me think Ignat will be the winner . Fuck, he looks a lot like that Martin Landau...

In the US, our Founding Fathers created a system of checks and balances, the administrative, legislative, and judicial branches of gub'ment. The system was designed that each branch would keep the other branches in check. The system doesn't work. The politicians are all in bed with each other.

Political party gridlock is the real system of checks and balances in the US today. The dems hate the rebubs and when the country is in gridlock, ie a rebub congress and dem. president, it is good for the US..the politicians cannot destroy the country as fast.

I'm for gridlock

That the results are very close to even. Given the conservative agenda, isn't being a hobbiest at the same time a little hypocritical, though??

You just don't quit, you are like our version of woody.

Just how is it exploitation if you have both a willing seller and a willing buyer agreeing , free of duress, on a price point. It does not matter what the good or service is, that is pretty much how the system works. Must drive you euroweenies nuts that Capitalism is the way to go.

You are right, we have nuts. And I am all for capitalism and SP's, as you might deduce from my history of posting here on Terb.

But I do believe in calling things what they are, and you are a fool if you deny that prostitution is exploitation. But then again, you seem to be under the impression that England still rules something.

Exploitation is what happens when people pays for Leaf tickets or Nike runners with some famous name on them.

Danes are just upset because they will never be able to experience the sublime joy of having been ENGLISH. Don't know who carries the bigger chip, you guys or the micks.:D

From a review of a book about Lord Crossharbour:

Bowers scans Black's business career in Canada and cites his growing disenchantment with the country as a "narrow-minded backwater" burdened with a moribund political life, irritating separatists, a politically correct cultural scene, anti-business laws and socialist inclinations. Black far preferred the high-octane worlds he was discovering in London......

East end Hobbiest
Anyone see the 2hr movie on CTV last night about pig farmer (apologies to pig farmers, except the serial killer ones) Black?

Sure didn't waste any effort in attempting to show the asshole in any kind of flattering light ... of course, that might be impossible anyway .... and "lady" Babs, what a piece of worthless trash. They were made for each other.
