If I was a college coach I would go out if my way to recruit as many trans athletes for the women's division as possible. There is no downside.
You will end up with a winning team and if you get the top ones early you can dominate for years. Coaches are paid to win. If women complain just sit back and let the supporters fight it out for you. You wouldn't even need to say anything except "I'm just here to field the best team I can".
