Can someone tell me why I keep hearing that lg products are no good? I want to renew my cell phone contract with rogers and the only 2 phones I like are lg. An employee at rogers suggested not to go with lg and also an employee at a different store pretty much said the same thing. So I'm trying to figure out why lg is a bad name.

LG is rebranded Gold Star. Gold Star was a Korean company that made electronic gizmoz. It didn't have a particularly good reputation. LG, on the other hand, is generally pretty good stuff.

The Rogers employee may have tried to move you away from the LG unit because he got a spiff (it's like a bonus for selling certain products) for selling another brand. That shit happens all the time.

I had an LG cellphone and still have an LG DVD writer. Both work perfectly.

On the other hand, I noticed that HOL II has an LG HD TV and it pales in comparison to the Samsungs that are also at HOL II.

The rogers employee suggested I go with the samsung corby phone, my mom has that phone and its probably the worst phone that I have come in contact with.

Forget about the Life's Good ad campaign. Goldstar was part of a Korean conglomerate that also sold items under the Lucky brand. They were amalgamted to form Lucky Goldstar.

Actually, the LG Neon had serious issues assicated with it. Google it and see for yourself. Other products are fine.

We couldnt turn it off, I touched one of the icons (widgets) to try to get it off the screen and all of a sudden it had like 7-8 widgets on the screen. I searched the internet and it showed to drag the widget and that didnt even work.

My son has an LG Neon and he says it's flakey.

Otherwise, I thought LG make reasonably priced, reasonable quality electronics. I'm sure there are much better but at a higher price.

I've had LG DVD writers and never had a problem...as for their TV's, their rated alot lower than the major brands, Samsung is rated the best TV....yes better than Sony etc.

I prefer Samsung...cell phone, DVD player.

Sometimes a lemon appears. I have not had any of the problems that you have had. Having said that, let's remember that touch screens can be sensitive. For example, I sometimes have to 'push' buttons twice4 on my GPS touch screen. Did you bring the phone back and ask them about these malfunctions?
