Sorry to dig up an oldish thread but I have a question for the guys that use a razor....

I use the clippers for everything but trimming the boys I set the clippers real close and have "caught" myself a couple times in the past. So I've been trying a razor for the last month or so. Definitely easier and faster with less chance of injury, but there is the razor rash. Seems there is no perfect solution here. I've used cream which has helped but I'm asking the guys who do shave, does the razor rash go away after your skin get used to it or is this a constant issue?

hi brewwguy, I have heard from the guys that they try different shaving creams to see which one isn't as harsh on their skin. It may be your reaction to the different creams causing your rash.
Also if you use a comb & scissors you will have better luck at not catching your skin.
Finding a cream after you shave may also help.

I use depilatory creams at least once every few weeks,
it won't leave you "fully shaved", but any pockets of hair left can be eliminated with a razor quite easily

A stripper I know is also a cosmetician and she suggested waxing. I let it grow in for 3-4 weeks first.
Yes it hurt, but only for a minute. Nice and smooth except for a very few missed hairs.
I’ll go back in 4 weeks.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to get a Brazilian this weekend. I usually just shave bit I want the minimal amount of ass hair I have removed. I tried shaving that area once and it was hell when the stubble grew back in.

I think there's something wrong with using chemicals to remove hair. That can't be good for you.

Getting full brazillian wax for almost 2 years now, including balls, shaft, and the crack. Hurts a bit but over time, the hair grows less and grows finer and I usually get 6-8 weeks out of it. I found this razor best for my face, especially with the Fusion Proglide shaving gel. The spring rate on the tilt feature is just right. It tracks the contours much better than the Schick Hydro5 I was using before.

Yes, I spent thousands between my wife and I, including going to a reputable clinic. Hardly made a difference even though we were told it was effective and we had the best skin tone and hair colour for good results. Thus the reason I'm going to get waxed tomorrow.

Got waxed the other day. Had to tweeze a few stragglers but overall I'm happy with the results. I especially like the absence of butt crack hair, which was the least painful area to remove. Makes wiping my ass so much easier. I shaved that area once and it was hell when the sharp ends started to regrow.

I'll be getting waxed from now on.
