Just had response that Leolist is only accepting Crypto currency effective immediately. They will not be accepting Credit card payment. Is this deja vu same as Backpage before it went down? If so what will be the up and coming site to take its place?

I don't think its in the same boat as backpage. Some trans girl in Vancouver snitched on leolist and accused them of assisting with human trafficking and being a "digital pimp". You can read more about it on her twitter @AlexisDVyne .

She did this because she believes that all advertising platforms should be free and she even started up her own site. Many many many sex workers are angry about this.

Even vipfavours payment processors are currently down & their site is free for the moment. If leolist does shut down the only place to go will be vipfavours, switter, twitter , tryst and of course review boards.

I doubt it will get shut down because the servers are located in Budapest hungary however they do have an office in boston soo who knows what is going to happen.

As fast as they shut them down, another site will emerge. The laws of supply and demand. Who knows which site it will be, but as sure as death and taxes, a site will emerge.

The payment systems were cancelled not because of illegal activity but because of terms of service and use clauses for all payment systems. No payment system world wide likes being associated with this industry. Because the provider in question publicly called the companies out they took action - they are perfectly happy to quietly take the money but it being public is an association they do not want.

VIPFavours is not going anywhere, LeoList is not going anywhere. Backpage was shut down for implementing policies on their site that hid human trafficking from law enforcement.

All this person has done is cause a headache for anyone in the industry, and most likely cost everyone money, as using platforms relying on crypto-currency is volatile which means companies need to account for that.
If there is no EU companies to deal with anymore, can we hopefully see a return to Canadian pricing?

Thank you for this @VIPfavours . Just wondering if you guys have resolved your payment issues yet ? I have not seen you post anything as of yet .

I doubt they will target review boards. Review boards charge by the year normally. They don't have ads that you have to consistently pay for every day. You make a one time payment and are limited to one or two posts a day.

I honestly do not think of this as the end of leolist ; however since yesterday there has been a drop of girls on leolist. Lots of sws/ sps don't understand cryptocurrency & using our mastercards/ visas were always the easiest and simplest solution.

What this woman did was entirely wrong & the whole entire sex community is letting her know it via twitter. People are trying to hack her account because she has messed with so many girls livelihoods.

The payment processors are being pressured to refuse services for these sites; review boards might be targeted next.

It is very uncomfortable and confusing having to buy n use bitcoin for payment
Im so afraid of screwing up and losing money

The anxiety is unreal!

It’s not the frequency of payment; the payment processors don’t want to be associated with this industry any more. Although erroneous public perception seems to be turning very negative on the sex industry even though only part of it is associated with human trafficking. Without a payment processor Vipfavours can only rely on cryptocurrencies; they are not a long term solution, because conversion to real cash is not easy. Hopefully review boards won’t be targeted next.

With it's so many bogus ads can't figure out why people still take chances on their ads.
They hope they're going to uncover a hidden gem, thinking with their little head, they know full well they aren't going to get the girl in the image and are just going for the price.

Typical clueless idiot who cares more about an ideology (and a stupid one at that) than the practical effects of what promoting that ideology achieves. Not only did she cost both SPs and advertisers a lot of money, she also put SPs at risk. Congrats...?

I'm thinking of coming back part time. Other than here, where is suitable to advertise for a mature escort?

to each their own. I doubt they will go after review boards. They would have done it already . I think that this never would have happened if it wasn't for the CBC story again by a " sex advocate" who is trying to take down digital pimps. I honestly don't think vipfavours will go to cryptocurrency either. The crazy thing about this is that the girl who did this tweeted to vipfavours that their site should be free and that if they needed the help she can help them find payment processors if they made their advertising fees 1$/ CDN per day...

The whole escort community is in a panic right now . We are all wondering if leolist is going to be shut down but the cbc article says that the LE say that shutting it down will not be very wise because it helps them with human trafficking investigations. I cant believe another sw did this . Lots of people are going to be hurt by this.

If you read the LL statement it also tucked in that the domain is changing, and there is zero mention of who the new owners are. Be very wary of this change.

LL was making a change before this girl went on a rampage. They were, from my understanding - looking at review site as well. Based on a new twitter handle I followed a couple of days before this happened. So I think the ”ownership” change was already happening.

Bottom line folks, our industry is not ever going to be as simple as mainstream. As much as I don't want to get into crypto, almost every single site that we need, will take it. So maybe it is time to just hop on board.

What is more important, food on your table or the convenience of a CC.

As for prices, its a lot. When that is what you solely rely on. I bet women pay more on there then they do on Terb for a month. Diversity is the name of the game here. I have never and will never put all my eggs in one basket. Not for anything, personal, business etc. That is especially true for this industry.

It sucks when things don't go the way we like or the way we think it should go. Yet we have seen that stirring the pot too much leaves us worse off. Bedford case, CL shut down then BP, now this. The storm will pass but how many people will learn this time. Learn how to adapt or learn how to change up your game by diversifying?

Bottom line - men will always buy sex and women will always sell it. It is just a matter of how easy or hard you make that within the limits of the ever-evolving industry.

I will say if the powers at LL are no longer using an EU based company for processing, then change the currency back to CDN. That is a pure cash grab if they don't. Which again, I recognize is their right and I will continue to pay so long as I want to have my ad on that platform and feel, I get an ROI.

Right now a bump once a month is good for me. However, when I tour East/West, I'll use it and pay. If a $10 as is making $250 - I ain't bitching about price. Escort advertising is so cheap compared to the mainstream for real businesses. Hell, my print cost on flyers for just events at my job cost more than a year of advertising on TERB and that us just to advertise to customers I already have.

Ladies have to watch, they think guys only look for sex when they want it. That is not true. They research beforehand. You don't need to have your ad up on the front page all the time, you don't need to only use LL on the day you are working. I say take this time to learn about other advertising venues or how to support those who have stay tried and true longer than CL, BP and LL combined. Which is Terb.

Sorry, that turned into more than I thought. As a businesswoman, I get frustrated at how upset these women get. Only because I know if they just tweaked a couple of things in their game, they wouldn't have to worry as much as they do. I wish there was a magic handbook I could give out. I wish women would put 10% of every booking away for days like today. It would help pay that hotel when you found out after you checked in that you can’t place an ad LL. I wish ladies would use more then one site. It would make sure you had another place to advertise when now stuck in a pre-paid hotel and no LL.

To be clear, I'm not mad at women. Just frustrated they have to go through this when I know a change here or there could have made this issue such a non issue for them as it is for me. I wish one person didn't decide for the rest what was good and what was not. First with Bedford and now this trans woman from Vancouver.

That's kinda cynical.

LL ads are a great starting point for doing research, like on review boards. You can see when your touring regulars are in town. And sure, you can TOFTT on a new one if you want.

Saying it's about price isn't accurate either. I can think of three higher end ladies who post on LL regularly when they come to town, and their rates are about double the local "talent:".
