You appear to have some confusion.

If you are contending that they have broken criminal law (c-36), getting a lawyer to act on your behalf is irrelevant. Investigation, charges, and prosecution must be done by the law enforcement agency and courts of proper and competent jurisdiction. A lawyer cannot proceed with criminal charges on your behalf. If you intend to sue them civilly, having a lawyer would be the way to do it. That is problematic on 2 fronts. 1) The cost of legal representation may well outweigh any costs recovered. 2) The court of civil jurisdiction will be the place of the origination of the website. If it is outside of Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country, not Canada's.

Similarly, if you are contending they broke the law, even though they are Canadian, the country in which the offense originates will maintain jurisdiction. That would require the laying of charges in that country and an order of extradition to that country for prosecution. For example, if a person commits a murder in another country, they are not tried for that murder in Canada, but in the country where the murder occurred. That country would have to apply for an extradition order, and that only happens in the most severe cases. Also, many countries do not have an MLAT (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty) with Canada.
