.....and the best time to buy is at the end of November from Futureshop. Low prices, plus the price guarantee takes you through Boxing Day.

I have a 46" Panasonic plasma tv that i bought a couple of months ago & i'm addicted to it. If you prefer going the LCD route, get at least one that's 240 Hz. If you don't want to pay that much for one, go for a plasma. If you do have the money to spend for such an LCD (240 Hz), i'd then consider an LED instead. I believe LED's are now the way to go & will one day replace LCD's & possibly be the leading technology until something new (which is likely to happen) comes up.

I'd also go for a reliable brand name. Go for brand names such as Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, Sharp & LG, among others. Don't bother with the cheaper brands if you want your tv to last you more than a few years. You'll also get a better picture with the popular brand name tv.

I don't understand why they continue to offer TV's in the 720P or 768P format. They should all start at a baseline of 1080P - the cost of making them this way at the factory level has to be negligible.
If you ever decide to hook a computer into a 720P monitor the resolution is pretty awful while 1080P is half decent.

Many people don't realize is that the "LED TV's" being advertised is really still an LCD with LED Backlight (or edgelit). LCD's don't have the best viewing angles, can't handle fast motion and have all kinds of problems with colour uniformity. Unless you're really in a bright room, plasma is the way to go.

At a 32" screen size, you won't notice a difference between a 720p or 1080p.

Check out Dynex and Insignia. They are the house brands of Future Shop and Best Buy therefore easily serviceable and often go on special sale. I've been using Dynex 32 720p for 2 years no complaints. Not the leading edge of tech but not the bleeding edge either.

I've got a samsung LCD and I've not noticed any of those issues. I can view it comfortably at a very narrow angle. Infact I can see the screen from a little more than zero degress. I can't say I've compared everything directly with a plasma, but I've got no issues with my TV and would gladly buy one again.

If you read my post you'll see I was emphasizing what happens if you run a computer off a 32" monitor.
With 720P surfing the internet is a pain in the ass because the resolution is completely awful. If you surf the internet off a 32" 1080P monitor the results are much better.
