Just left my favourite store with my weekly supply of beer and wine, (I don't drink whiskey or liquers). Noticed that most if not all the selections prices have increased by 10%, again I usually buy lower end beer and what I call cheap and cheerful wines. I talked to my friend who works there and asked if he and his coworkers had received a raise recently and of course he said No. So now we are being gouged by them as well as the big grocery chains such as Loblaws, Metro etc. who have had the largest net profits this past year ever. The good news is gas prices have gone down 10c per liter. THANK GOD THE OIL COMPANIES ARE TREATING US FAIRLY. LOL LOL LOL.

Yeah visiting other provinces one thing thats been shocking is how much control the LCBO has as an entity over the entire distribution industry here. Sorry to hear that everything's going up but as a big source of revenue for the government it makes sense that they wouldn't want to relinquish control.

The LCBO in 2021 paid the province a $2.39 billion dividend. Profits, and thus the dividend, has been increasing year after year. This is why the Ontario government wouldn't seriously open up alcohol sales. The province would never be able to make up for the loss money.

Gas prices are only temporarily down due to temporary decreased demand in foreign countries, and to a much lesser extent the cap on Russian oil prices.

We get some idiotic government moves… eventually we’ll get someone to campaign on open liquor sales and deregulation. Just a matter of time.
