Every morning i am reminded how imperfect i am, because before i do anything i have to put my glasses on, and i'm tired of it. I'm thinking that eye surgery might be the ticket.

My eyes are pretty bad, and i'm wondering if its even worth it for me. Plus there is this age thing.

OD: -400 Sphere; -025 Cyl; 090 Axis

OS: -475 Sphere; -020 Cyl; 090 Axis

B.C. +200

Before i actually set out and make an appointment i was wondering if any TERB members have had this procedure, and would be willing to share their experiences. Even better if there are any eye doctors that have some good advice. Thanx all. --- Kev

Lousy eyesight will be great for your SP experience. Even if she a 2/10. In your mind you can make it seem much better.

I've heard mostly good things about laser surgery. Friends have had it and only a few complain about their night vision when driving.

Next time you are in for your eye check-up. Ask your doctor if you are a potential candidate.

Some people apparently are not.

Good luck.

I had surgery done in January of last year. I don't remember what my measurements were, so I can't make a valid comparison to yours.

I do know that I wore very thick glasses, and that the worse your vision is, the longer your recovery after surgery. For approximately 2 to 3 months afterwards I could not drive at night for more than 15 minutes, due to the glow around lights. However, I fully recovered, have 20/20 vision, and would do it all over again.

You really would need to get the exam to get good answers to your questions. Even if you have the exam and then decide against the surgery, at least you had the benefit of having a thorough exam.

Note that traditional surgery does not eliminate the need for reading glasses, although I hear there is a new procedure for that.

Good luck whichever way you go.

I had lasik performed in June 2000. My eyesight is better than 20/10 now. No problems whatsoever. I had strong -12.00 prescriptions before with accuvues before. Just saving money on contacts and solution paid for the procedure. I only paid $1000 for both eyes at LasikVision Canada (who subsequently went bankrupt and now are LasikMD.)

It's an amazing feeling to see past the bed when you wake up.

Thanx everyone. A $1000 dollars for both eyes kmark2000? That sounds to cheap. I heard its more like $5000 for two eyes. Hmmm food for thought. --- Kev

I wouls suggest you head off to the doc and as.

I had mine done at LASIK MD in NF, last year and am very happy.

The initial exam lasted a few hors and the can at that point let you know if you are a good canidate for the sugery. Consider this no sergon wants people running around saying they suck.

Invest the time in the exam.
