Lakers\Mavs trade

I was listening to a crazy theory on the AD\Doncic trade that was saying the teams did the deal to get the fans in Dallas upset with the team (they are already burning jerseys). the team will start losing their fanbase and eventually, that will be the excuse that the new owners (Mark Cuban sold his majority share) will use to move the team to Vegas. In Vegas they will get a new arena with attached casino and a new fanbase.
As for the lakers, well they get the television ratings, Nike deals and increased fanbase!

Not a popular move with the fans, that's for sure. They traded a generational type player and got back a big man with ankle problems. They already have two young bigs in Lively and Gafford as well. Made no sense other than $$.

It's not a crazy theory, it's absolutely what's going on, no way Nico would be able to get a "deal" like this, an aging/injured star, Max Christie and only ONE first round draft pick? If this was a legit trade, the Mavs would have/should have gotten a minimum 2 first rounders, even 3.
Nico would be fired in a second if he did this on his own or without anyone above him letting it happen.
Some fans are already returning their season tickets and getting money back, they (Mavs have) lost over 700,000 Instagram followers, people are real pissed.

It's all about a casino resort, that's it.

First video is a summary of the second one which was posted by the guy on twitter.

I've even heard speculation that the ownership gave LA such a good deal to make it more likely that LA people will go to their Vegas casinos. At the same time, the NBA is extremely unlikely to approve a move out of Dallas

Who knows the truth. Billionaires don't think lie us.

Three teams in Texas, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, they won't miss one team (financially) if it means starting a new franchise in Nevada.

Dallas traded LD to avoid the super max extension next season. The Lakers are able to sign him for $170 k less. Sucks for Luca.

Nope. Casino.

If this was real trade, then Mavericks got fucked and Nico should be out of a job right now, but he's not. They got A.D. injury prone and 32, Max Christie and a first round pick, FOR LUKA FUCKING DONCIC? lol
They should have at least had Knecht and/or Reeves in that trade along with another first round pick.

Lakers are redividing their traditional strategy, the Mavs got suckered in by it. The Lakers aren't done, Luka is there to sweet talk Joker into eventually coming to LA.

As for Mavs ownership, they are insane. The grass wont be greener in LV, they are motivated by naked greed. Dallas is the richest city in Texas and second only to LA in the Southwest's GDP. Anthony Davis doesn't want to play the post, his body can no longer handle the physicality of the position.

Why would they move a team when they can get 2 billion or more for an expansion franchise? There's no way they'd approve a move out of a major metropolis like dallas with all 4 major sports.

It's true the owners are casino mogul but a move needs to be approved on merit. Dallas is a healthy franchise. Doncic has had injury and conditioning issues forever. They looked to be tired of him. Plus he's gonna have to pay some of that DEI California 13% state tax now, ouch. Davis had been pretty healthy the last few years.

Allowing a team to move and then giving an expansion franchise to that city has been done.
In the NHL, the Atlanta Flames moved to Calgary and then Atlanta received the Thrashers.
In the NFL, the Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis and then Baltimore received the Ravens.
In the MLB, New York lost the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants and later received the Mets.
In the NBA, Seattle lost the Supersonics and are supposed to receive a new franchise in the future.
Some cities don't receive an expansion franchise, instead an existing team relocates there. For instance, Winnipeg received the Thrashers after losing the original Jets.

Those franchises were doing poorly, that has nothing to do with this situation. You can't pull a successful franchise from a supportive fan base. It will be interesting to see if they can move a franchise because they can't get approval for a casino, which is what they want to do.

My prediction may come true, the Nuggets failed to strengthen their bench. Jokic may become a Laker.

And the "Anthony Davis experience" in Dallas begins.

The Lakers got crushed by a last place team. Not having a legit center is going to kill them. Jokic and the Thunder with their two bigs (Holmgren, Hartenstein) will feast on their carcass.

Lakers somehow stole Luka from the Mavs I wonder if the NBA had anything to do with it as ratings have dropped a lot. What a better place to have Luka play than the most stories franchise in NBA history.

The Browns relocated from Cleveland and became the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore wasn't given an expansion team.

Fair enough. We'll say Cleveland got the expansion team in a 3 way deal of sorts. I know technically the NFL didn't consider the second iteration of the Browns an expansion team, but in realistic terms they were.
