Well, she is talented. Not my taste in music, but I can respect it.

I think she does what she wants. She is a marketing genius and entertainer extraordinaire. Her music is good, she is a talented singer and writer. She isn't just one of those artists that relies on clever marketing, her music and videos stand on their own as amazing. She really is incredible as far as being an entertainer, and I do believe that she is this generation's Madonna (but way, WAY more talented than Madonna ever was).
This song and video definitely channels a Madonna type vibe. There are too many references to past Madonna videos here to miss that. I think that Lady Gaga is paying homage to the woman who blazed the trail, and showing that she is now taking up the mantle where Madonna left off.
I liked it, but then again, I like most of what Lady Gaga puts out...it's just catchy.

Awesome song but hmm, the military-themed video is pretty disturbing and creates a yucky feeling.
Obviously she's going for shock-value here.
Anyway, the 1st time I heard this song I thought it very much sounded like Madonna in her Isla Bonita phase.

She's one of a handful few pop artists that can get away with dressing up as a straw flower at award shows or wearing a dress made from astro turf.
Salvador Dali would have been proud.
As much as I am a fan of her visual presentations, I wonder when LGG will burn out.

Madonna has been around for 30 years and can stilll pack a stadium. You cannot discount this, nor say that LGG has more talent than Madonna. It remains to be seen frankly.
Personally, she has some catchy songs, but she is also deliberately being theatrical (case in point the above photo) in order to garner attention for herself. To me, that means that she's not all that talented. She's relying on the circus aspect to raise her profile.
You don't see Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, U2, or the Beatles etc. acting like freaks to get attention and sell more records

Readers across the Web are saying that they refuse to watch the video and that they won't listen to Lady Gaga's music anymore. Some artists are also voicing about their disgust with Gaga's latest antics.

I'm sorry, call me a prude but I don't think I will ever accept these modern fads.
For me the extent of "art" in music stopped roughly 96.
There's some pieces I enjoy that have been released since, but the majority of my collection is pre Grunge.
I really can't hold any new songs in the same light as masterpieces from the 70s and 80s, which have been sampled in many modern hits.

I like her, she's very colorful..those glasses with the smokes burning...she's clearly commercial but still good
It's much more than the music, her fashion gets attention from people who never heard of her. The fact she's in control of her image and sound is very sexy.
She dyed her hair, lost 20 pounds, and started acting silly.
Interesting to see her nice Italian Girl look prior to the bullshit. Still, even back then, you could see the talent was there, but she has definitely cranked it up a few notches.
