Is there a better sound system on the market?

Whenever the neighbours play their hip-hop too loud, I give them a taste of the King of all Tigers. They turn the volume down.

I scored a pair of Heresy 1's, 2 years ago before all the mania about Klipsch and sent them sky-rocketing in price.
Looking for a set of Belle's.

Are we commenting on Klipsch speakers or are we talking about retaliating towards people who play music too loud? If it's the former I had a pair of Klipsch Horns driven by a second-hand Sansui G9700. I had to run 70 feet of RCA wires from the room where the receiver was to the turntable upstairs because with the turntable in the same room as the speakers the needle would just skid across the record at high volumes.

What kind of cables did you use to keep your frequency response correct? Usually turntable to preamp cables should be no more than one meter in length, unless very high quality cables are used. I believe it's a cable capacitance issue, though I'm no expert.

A bit of both lessjamie7, Michael Jamison does great audio.

I have the Dolby Atmos in the living room but with only one subwoofer, don't need more than that. I have the Promedia 2.1 in the office. They are so versatile that even old films sound great, I recently watched Alfred Hitchcock's Spellbound. Sure there are limitations in the recording quality but it still awesome. They also sound very clear in low volume with a rich bottom end. I don't go loud much, not necessary.

It's now been 14+ years since I bought the first set and they still sound great. They passed the Bach test easily.

You should give them an early morning wake up call with Cantonese opera. It's just like nails scratching a chalk board.

Klingon opera also works

While never having the honour of hearing real Klipschorn's, I did spend a weekend listening to some Speakerlab K's. Speakerlab was a Seattle based make your own speaker company, the sold the cabinet plans and the hardware. And the K's were their flagship. It took 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood to make the folded bass horn of 1 speaker. Watched them blow out a candle at about 4' from the port at the start of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
An amazing style of speaker.

In the early 80's i sold LA Scala's and at 105db they didn't need much power .

We used 2 2 Bryston 4b's bridged which were 800 watts per ch .

I preferred back then the Altec Lansing model 19's and Electovoice Interface D's

These American speakers go way back in time and we're by far the best. They were expensive back in the day, as I couldn't afford them and bought a British brand called Mission which were very good but nothing could compare to Klipsch.

Hmm, you may be right about that, it must have been the speaker wires that came from upstairs, I was a teenager then and this was my dad's setup you could blast the shit out of the whole house with those speakers.

Exactly, capacitance. Also, a good turntable properly set up would be relatively immune to most feedback.
