When a political party is only interested in power without consideration for the greater good, it looks for scapegoats. The Nazis targeted the Jews, the GOP is targeting the LGBTQ community. Universally hated and feared by the majority they are an easy scapegoat - a Final Solution has already been stated.
Maary (glasses) is 100% woman, Hunter Schafer is trans. She was born a boy and suffered from body dysmorphia. Her parent had a tough decision to make: either force her to remain a boy and endure inevitable suicide or manage her transition to female. From one scene in Euphoria I'm assuming Ms Schafer was castrated. As a body she probably would be dead and forgotten by now. As a girl she's become a high stakes fashion model with surprisingly good acting skills. She is a pitch-woman for several fashion and lifestyle brands most notable Prada and she has several acting projects upcoming.
The fate of Euphoria rested on her shoulders, she had to sell the pilot episode. Had she flunked, the show would not have been renewed. The other surprise is Jacob Elordi, in the show he plays a sociopathic mamaluc. From a recent edition of Hot Ones he's actually very affable and charming.
The best actors know how play opposite of what they are in real life.
