Trying to purchase a car for my kid.

New.

I realize different prices, but basically what we are
looking for.

Help me vote for the five we have test driven.

From what I have heard so take that with a grain of salt. My mechanic was particularly impressed with hyundai's in terms of price, reliability and cost to repair.

Volks tend to be a bit more expensive to maintain.

Ford is pretty good for features and base price..... reliability I can't comment but hte focus is well regarded.

I voted HE but the FF is a good second choice.

I have no problem with a child driving a family car in fact if you need a new one let them drive the old one.

If you feel the need to buy the one get a hoopty that is to as something for a grand or less and they get a job to support it

lots of cheaper options out there without sacrificing safety. Maybe a lease.

The Board is full of critics. I have never discussed the money side of things..and really don't care to. We...him and I have been test driving..and just looking for a vote on quality of the cars in the list.

For all you guys know, he IS BUYING the car.. and may well have purchased the current old one he is driving.

Im just tryna help the kid out.

No need for all the losers to analyze every statement in here and pass judgement!

Was it not you who wrote this?

Does that not say or imply that YOU are buying the car?

And I am pretty sure you have said that anything posted on TERB is left for people to posts opinions on even you don't like or asked for those opinions. Or it was something like that. I would have to go back and such but I am too lazy or don't care enough too. I haven't quite figured out which one yet.

Anyway, glad he is buying the car, even if you were buying it, I wouldn't really care. I have never driven any of those cars so I have no opinion on the matter.

Again..implied or not....even if factually incorrect, and grammatically improper.

Why do critics always chime in....off topic..take a shot! Is it weakness? Insecurity?

Who cares.

It was a simple vote. If you had no opinion...MOVE ON.

anyway ..Nuff said. The ones who get it.... Get it.

The rest....I just feel sorry for!

Why not go for a Toyota vehicle? (admittedly I'm biased, as I'm the son of a Toyota Canada employee).

There are various makes and models that would be within your price range, such as the Corolla or Yaris. I would also concur about going for a lease, because after the terms of the lease are completed, you and your (grown) child would have the option of trading for another vehicle.
