And they haven't informed customers that this is what they are serving. Just appalling behavior on behalf of Yum Brands!, the parent company.

I haven't eaten KFC in well over a year. Yes I prefer Mary Brown's plus they're Canadian.

Oh my goodness gracious! Watch out or you're going to grown a big long beard and start making your wife wear a Hijab if you let this chicken touch your lips! (If you haven't already learned not to eat shit that KFC serves now.

Halal chicken is handled with more care than regular factory processed chicken. I still can't stomach KFC. I like Popeyes and they've been serving Halal certified chicken since they came into Canada as the original franchisees were Muslims.

I've eaten Halal meat many times as I have friends who are Muslim. So cut the crap.
I was not aware that Popeye's Canada was fully Halal and have been for a long time.
Why can't they have both options why are we eating Halal when less than 10% of our population is Muslim?

There are a million Muslims in Canada and KFC wants their business. Why should they lose a million potential customers to please you and Orry?

Because they are the same chickens, just killed in a more humane and food safe manner. You are getting a safer meat. And a Muslim holy man is supervising. You want to trust YUM to otherwise buy anything less than the cheapest chicken? Kosher chicken OTOH is salted and it does taste more bland.

I rarely make this accusation, but complaining over this or demanding your own Christian factory processed chicken is either ignorant or Islamophobic. Be grateful for this and hope we never get US Tyson-factory farmed chicken. It's gross.

How are we sure if KFC serves real "halal" chicken...it could be just advertising...to get the muslims to buy their crap...we all know it's crap if it's KFC...

Is this like the definition of much ado about nothing? How in any way, shape or form does this make ANY difference to anybody? Honestly! Would any of you know the difference between Halal chicken or not? Does it make it taste any different? From my understanding, it means the chickens are slaughtered humanely. Is that a problem with all y'all???

Or....is this just anti-muslim hysteria? Like, why is the Menzoid so outraged by this? I mean, it isn't like they're swapping chicken for plant-based crap, or serving fried dog. Get a fucking grip!!!

I'm surprised a sect of Christianity hasn't gone for installing some kind of dietary restriction on food production, honestly.

King's Fish and Chips in Woodbridge is owned and operated by Muslims. It's become an institution in the community, going strong since the 90's. Here's the kicker, on Good Friday, the lineup reaches Hwy 7.

I did a taste test of canned corned beef: Hereford vs Grace Halal. The later tasted fresher and brighter without the use of MSG. I don't know how halal meat is processed, I do know that in non-halal slaughter houses the cattle are electrocuted to death.

You don't need both options, you ate the Halal meat, and were in the presence of Muslim friends, I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but... you're officially a convert. From now on, you can only derive pleasure from the exotic flavours and complex textures of that Halal meat, you can never go back to Anglican slaughtered chicken now that you crossed over to the Muslim side.

From a business standpoint it makes sense for one supplier. As well from a cross contamination standpoint you really can't offer options. It either is or isn't.

I consider the no bacon thing to be the larger issue. They will have to pry the strip from my cold dead greasy hands before I will give up my sacred pork products.

I'm sure there are more than a million Muslims in Canada. I'd say 1+ million in Ontario alone.
Why risk losing 30 times that in potential customers by not being honest about the source of your product?
It will be interesting to see the effect this has on KFC sales.

So it seems now that both Mary Brown's and Popeye's are Halal certified and been so for years. This is disappointing to say the least. I will no longer be eating at any of these establishments.
