I don’t see the relevance of the birth rate when we have a ton of new immigrants
Its relevant as a reason why we have so many new immigrants, but not really relevant to the sp market.
Though I don't know why you'd post a chart of total numbers of births instead of the actual birth rate.

Rates for sp's have gone up in the last year or two but were pretty constant for the decade or so before.
I wonder if tryst indies vs LL posts have something to do with it. Combine that with the possibility of online camgirl type work and there may be more options for them to choose from.

As for immigrants, there are a few more Ukrainian sp's but not sure we've seen a big increase in Indian sp's, which given how many are flooding the universities right now might be expected.

Ok... I've been here a while so I'll just say it.The reason you're having 'trouble' finding what you want is obvious to me.
1: People beating down the providers pricing drives the decent ones to either triple their prices to get rid of dirt bags that can't honor their restrictions or pay their rates... and I'm sorry to point it out but when the rate us $320 you should automatically round UP to $350 or $400 if you click or think shes hot.. If you pay the exact rate, it's an insult. Keep your tips in each back pocket, so it appears natural when you pay that you reach to pocket (a=meh) or pocket (B=OMFG she's hot)... I kant afford to see the woman I used to. It used to be $800 and I could show up for 2 hours and share a bottle of wine, but now they start at 1k an hour... and it's all the shitbag nickle-and diming guys whove ruined it for decent guys like me.
2: admittedly I like to see a person that's way outside my scope of reason... but times have changed. Women are augmenting themselves to have big fat asses and ridiculous looking lips. If you're looking for a fit model... and yes, they used to be plentiful, these women simply don't exist like they used to... walk down any busy street and pretend every woman was an escort... then ask yourself who you would hire. It's no longer 'popular' to take care if yourself.. people want a Kardashian so that's what you get on the menu. It's very much like the fall if the Roman empire.

1. Young hot and fit girls don't even exist at the $400 level or the $800 level. If they do they are very few and far between. Where as there use to be revolving door of fit college hotties at the $240 level.
2. Young hot and fit girls do exist. Just got to any big mall, downtown bar or nightclub. and you will see them all over the place.

I think they are there. I've tried sugar dating and 99% of the posts are fake, but a few are real... unfortunately the same people run all the sites... but they're too dumb to realize reoccurring users see the same profiles and patterns and recognize them as such. Like someone else posted, only fans etc opened the market up to hot girls, but as the government and loan industry cracks down the allure of untraceable cash will bring an end to only fans and correct the market.
My issue with $240 rates is that your mechanic was only charging $80/hr back then, now he wants $170-$200 per hour.. escorts have the same mechanics as the rest of us and have adjusted their rates accordingly.
2: I dunno... I go out lots and all I see are flabby outbif shape badonkadonks stretching latex to the end of its fiber and Callogen pushing lips to the point that you can literally see light thru them. Not sure when being a blowfish became cool but I want no part of it.

Okay the first part I agree OF destroyed SC, MP, and Street dating. Plus courtesy and kindness disappeared and Narcissisms and self entitlement blossom because of social media. But this has happened since the invention of the newspaper I am guessing around in the late 1940s?

#2 Someone is trying be a nurse, I like that statement. I agree the way some people dress makes me wonder where fashion has gone. If The Bay is closing some stores then it is that obvious that people don't care to wear something reasonable. Body enhancement or Augment is out of control, I had my eye on a Civie but then she increased her chest I didn't bother with her. And her attitude change.

There may be many reasons why the SP/MP situations have changed so drastically. Could some people have a fear of covid? I have not been in a restaurant since 2020. I have not been in a plane recirculating the air in the disease incubator. I have had to learn how to cut my own hair so that I do not have to sit in a seat at the barbershop. = Less money for these people = Less money for the economy = Less money for SPs/MPs.

Is there a risk that a sucker is paying for the lost business (i.e. paying higher rates to offset the loss of clients)?

I was thinking if this too... we've all become germ-conscious... so I'd someone was say 20, then 10% of their life... and the majority of their adult life has been spent on covid lockdown. They're way more likely to put up naked cooking videos and get paid than they are to actually have in person contact-and you can't blame them for that.

- Growth in platforms like OnlyFans and SeekingArrangement have provided more desirable alternatives to traditional sex work. It’s also never been easier for SPs to market themselves and operate independently, so more are choosing the Indy route than work for agencies for example.

- Demographic changes. The median age in Canada has increased about 2yrs in the past decade. So all of us are getting older in general, both providers and clients.

- Higher cost of living and stagnant real wages has caused a greater proportion of young people to live at home longer than in the past. This reduces the proportion of young adults for whom sex work would be a viable profession.

- Generational differences in perceptions of attractiveness. What those of us 40+ consider attractive in a woman might be different than what Gen Z considers attractive. That mismatch could add to the perception that’s there’s fewer available attractive SPs available.

If the birth rate has dropped world wide I guess it means there should be less Beautiful people and lower high earning income people also.
The only ones making money are professors, teachers, Nurses? and Gov't employee. Also self employed and anyone who works for a corp. and they have the title "Chief".

Huge shortage of young women in China and India. For China in particular, which is no longer dirt poor, you often hear about them returning at the massage parlours.
If feminism really takes over these countries, imagine possible incel incidents.

It may seem counterintuitive but the effect is actually the opposite. Studies have found that when a population ages the level of inequality tends to increase because it leads to a greater concentration of capital in fewer hands.

The proportion of the population consisting of young adult women has been decreasing over the past decade but at the over the same period the money supply has increased by over 500%. So in a sense you have a lot more dollars chasing a commodity that’s becoming more scarce.

It’s probably less of a concern in India. The areas of the country with the greatest gender imbalances also still have relatively high birth rates (north India). Whereas regions that have low gender imbalances (south India) are already below replacement level birth rates.

China is definitely in trouble though. Their working age population is going to fall off a cliff over the next 1-2 decades.

Some restaurants have lost much their clientele from before 2020, few have returned and fewer new clients are coming in. They have had to increase their prices to absorbed increased expenses and less income. This is a disaster in the making as some will find it too expensive and not come at all and some will come less.

If a SP increases her prices and the economy gets worse her clients will go to the more affordable choices. When things get better and there is more activity and money in the economy the clients may stay at the affordable choices. So making your existing clients pay for lost income is not a good idea.

So in a sense you have a lot more dollars chasing a commodity that’s becoming more scarce.
There may be a lot of money in the hands of the older generation, but are they willing to part with it. Even if a person of 55 is OK financially they may be worried that they will have to finance their future with their savings. They do not know if they will live to 80--90+ years old. The government(s) have done a good job to minimize financial panic during the pandemic, but now is the time we have to start paying.

There’s a big picture here. An industry doesn’t change without major effect. Obviously one point that can be agreed upon by most posters is that there has been a change. So what is the effect that has made change here? Pandemic? Government? Education? Family?Demographics? Immigration? Lifestyle? Social media? Technology? Etc. Good luck trying to figure it out but it sure is fun to theorize. I don’t fuckin know but I sure wish I was smart enough to crush it. There are many opinions within this thread offering narrow points of view. None of them are wrong. Here’s another. Business 101…Supply and demand. There’s a huge demand for hot girls. I’m not referring to escort’s specifically but they’re included in the body of supply. The current big picture economy expresses that young men, the demand, (and women which limits supply even more) are financially stable in this country. You’ll notice I didn’t write financially successful. But they’ll get there over time. You can take that for what you want but it means they’re making enough money to have a personal relationship or decide not to have one. It means enough freedom to choose their own way. It means more options than selling or buying a body. And this country, not to mention the virtual world it’s connected to, is truly the land of opportunity. Anyone with the fortitude to succeed will do so. Schools and the internet are pumping out educated, informed, and entrepreneurial creative mindsets… I only wish that I could choose to sell my body but alas, no takers…damn what’s wrong with the younger generation?

The big picture is the economy. You have to look at how it has changed other transactional businesses. The fast food industry is down. Retail business no longer offers weekly/monthly sales. The advertising business has changed drastically and is down. On the sell side everyone has less and on the buy side the consumer is cautious. We can all agree that the economy and consumer spending is not the same as it was pre 2020.

One industry you can look at when gauging consumer confidence and economy stability is automobile manufacturers. The big three North American manufactures are now holding 100 day+ inventories on most models. Their car lots are bulging with cars they can not sell. They are just starting to discount with $8000-$9000 incentives on $70,000-$80,000 pick up trucks and SUVs. The two auto manufacturers that have low inventories are Honda and Toyota. This is an indication that consumer confidence in the economy is no longer there to support long term buys like a expensive pick-up truck or SUV. The consumers that have some money are buying brands with a reputation for quality and reliability to get them through the economic downturn.

The SP/MP business is a luxury/discretionary expense that is non-essential that the average hobbyist can survive without. If you look at malls and shopping centers you will see many empty stores that have closed up because of lack of business. Has the same happened in the SP/MP business? The barrier to entry into the SP/MP business can be as low as a cell phone number and a ad.
Many providers that have gone will be back, many new entries will arrive as times get harder. I suspect we are in for several years of up and down, a roller coaster ride of good and bad times in the economy.
