So I had KFC for the first time in at least 15 years. Put it this way, the last time I was there was when you walked in, immediately got into a lineup, there was a stainless steel counter with the sides in it, and they'd cook the stuff through a window in a back wall. They still have roughly the same layout but it looks a lot different today.

I was never a KFC fan. I always found their chicken greasy and messy. So I didn't miss it at all over the years. For whatever reason (probably advertising) I decided to try it out again.

The chicken was just as greasy as I remember it. I saw them cooking it in an oven, whereas I think they used to deep fry it? So in theory it should be at least a little less greasy. In theory...

I got the 4-piece and of that only 2 pieces had any decent white meat on them. One of the pieces was really good and the other was passable. But 2 out of 4 ain't cuttin' it!

Fries were crappy. I remember them being better. They're no McDonalds or Swiss Chalet fries.

Mashed potatoes weren't bad but a little too smooth (like, so smooth it made me wonder if there were any real potatoes in it!).

I didn't get a salad because I know what their dixie slaw tastes like (you can buy it anywhere).

So overall it was okay but it'll probably be another 15 years before I go back. Although I did see an ad for grilled KFC chicken so I might try that when it makes its way to Canada.

Oh yeah, it's kinda expensive for fast food. My meal cost $10. Not exceptionally expensive but definitely on the higher end of the fastfood pricing scale.

I think I'm going to try Popeyes to see how they compare. I think I've had it once and the chicken was much crispier and didn't ooze as much grease. We'll see!

Was out late and got a craving for some fast food, dropped into a Wendys at Kennedy & Steeles. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. Got B&S, it wasn't nearly as good looking or tasty as the ads suggest.

well here is a tip. Ask them to make it fresh.

Takes 5 mins or so, but its MUCH better, Also ask for fresh fries.

Trust me its worth it!

KFC is like a bad SP. Once you've had the breasts and thighs all your left with is a greasy box.

Both are OK, imo.

Popeye's seasoned fries are better, imo.

I never get fries at KFC.

What's gross at KFC, imo, is when they sell the honey BBQ chicken strips.

They just take fried chicken strips and drench them in that sauce. Gross, imo.

Well, you saved $20, and you are 1/12th the way to an SP session.

I rarely eat KFC but I like it when I do.
With a little of that green slime (coleslaw) it's good.

I could take or leave the fries and never, ever, eat the pasty brown gravy.

It is quite expensive.

P.S.
That girl in your sig pic has got to have one of the cutest/sexiest
smiles I've seen.

Funny you say that. I am finding that lately chicken dishes in restaurants are surpassing pork and beef dishes in price. It used to be you'd have chicken that was cheaper than beef. Someone told me that that is because so many people are switching from beef to chicken that the demand is up thereby raising the price......

This came up when I went out for chinese food and their lunch special was stirfry with vegetables and pork. I asked them to substitute chicken instead of pork and they wanted to charge me $1.50.......(on top of the $5.99 for the pork dish).

As for KFC: I get a craving every 5 yrs and have it then I'm good for another 5. I think this is it though cuz the last time it was CRAP.

As for the cost, you should try KFC in the US. Last time I was there you ordered a 3 piece meal and that entitled you to unlimited sides. Their sides contained mashed potatos, corn, fries, green beans, coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad bread, etc etc etc. I saw some people there with 3 pieces of chicken and about a foot of food piled on top.....

That explains it. I wondered why it was so popular with (poor) Americans what with the price but if there's unlimited sides, I can understand why.
