I did not win either. Bad star to new year...lol

Hey Fred,

Since OLG started to post winnners for Keno , I have noticed that there are multiple winners when there are five or more numbers in a decade.My take is that these winners are playing these numbers randomly and happen to get lucky with their choice of decades and numbers.Or are they playing the same sets regularly? Or some other stategy?
Your ideas?

Most likely they are recycling the tickets, lets face it, it's harder to win if the numbers are all over the place.

If you take
- all numbers divisible by 5
-all numbers divisible by 4
-all prime numbers
-all palindromic numbers ( 11,22 , 33,44, 55, 66

You get a total of 45 balls
and from these you are almost guaranteed to get 13-18 balls every draw. Almost without fail.

Hey DHS..have you noticed lately the OLG is promoting Keno as if it's a brand new Lottery. But when I looked at the "new" game nothing has changed except the play slip, or am I missing something ?
Does the OLG marketing dept not have enough work to do ? Why are they pulling stunts like this ?

I noticed it last night when I filled in the new slip and got the new ticket - only 2 boards per slip.
Not impressed so far ... I guess I might have been impressed if I had won the " NEW" game but had the same results.I can't get 2 numbers right these days so I may as well take a break or play 10 numbers!

The new keno slip is totally stupid, in fact, I just sent them (OLG) an email regarding this issue. Is not really enviromentally friendly at all....

stupid is an understatement, ( environmentally unfriendly, creates more work for the retailer ) I think I will send them an email as well.

I pointed this out to a retailer ie waste of paper and ink and asked them to pass along to the lotto rep.

Add to that hundreds of thousands of old Keno slips that are being thrown out...
but reversal is unlikely as the money to redesign the forms has already been spent..I think I will email Ontario Auditor General's office as well.

Picking 10 out of 10 is like impossible. For months now, I don't see anyone winning the $250,000. I think they should change the whole Keno structure not just the slip.
Is it that nobody is winning and everyone just stopped playing, so they decided to change the keno slip? ...just to promote the game more..." get people on board the keno bandwagon." ...just my point of view.

OLG has introduced improvements to DAILY KENO play instructions to help customers and retailers gain a better understanding of how the game is played. DAILY KENO has a new look but it’s the same great game. The rules and prize structure remain the same.

Improvements to DAILY KENO are the result of extensive research. Our research revealed that while regular DAILY KENO players understood the game, non-regular players perceived the game as difficult and complex. We have introduced a new and improved selection slip to make it easier for lottery players to play DAILY KENO. The refreshed selection slip includes step by step instructions on how to fill out the slip and play DAILY KENO.

Although OLG is no longer distributing the DAILY KENO selection slips which feature 4 boards, you may be interested to know that the old selection slips will continue to function with no current end date to their functionality. In addition, you may want to take advantage of our repurchase feature, which allows players to buy the same selections on a ticket without having to use a selection slip. After a ticket is validated, the repurchase screen appears on the retailer display. This gives the customer the option to repurchase the same selections.

OLG continues working towards improving its environmental performance. This includes reducing the amount of paper required for our lottery products. Depending on the product and the number of boards purchased, the change in ticket size will vary. Coupled with the 15 per cent reduction in our first phase of ticket size reduction, our online tickets are, on average, 25 per cent smaller than they were previously. Ticket size reduction features including eliminating excess white space, reducing the size of brand logos and removing unnecessary wording have been applied. We will be introducing more changes to reduce the amount of paper we use in the coming months and years. This latest initiative contributes significantly to OLG’s overall goal of reducing paper consumption by eighty per cent.

In regards to your concerns about the new DAILY KENO selection slip and its environmental impact, allow me to provide the following information. OLG is always looking for ways to enhance our products and improve our player experience. The move to two board DAILY KENO selection slips was done to make more room for instructions to help new players learn how to play. To reduce the use of paper, we encourage players to re-use their selection slips over a number of purchases. We also encourage our players to take advantage of the "repurchase" function allowing retailers to reprint a player's selections at the time of ticket validation - no selection slip is required.
