Now there is a creepy thought. Fake a death to avoid spending the rest of you life in prison. Nah, I don't think he could pull it off, even with millions to bribe.Compromised said:Suicide? How much to fake your death in the US?
LOL too funny! While I find the faked suicide theory hard to swallow, the real suicide scenerio is quite believable.Bear669 said:He is probably with that Bre-X guy who 'fell' from a helicopter !
Hey Elmer, you're a funny guy. We need some more humour around this place. Your point is scary until one realizes that any embarrassment from Lay for the Bush administration has been realized. If they were going to kill the guy, they should have done it years ago to save themselves from embarrassment. Nope, I still like the suicide scenerio.elmer3290 said:Maybe his convenient death prevented a potential embarrassment to the Bush administration?
Bloody right! Guy deserved to be tarred and feathered, then put in a cage, toured around the country and poked with a sharp stick. Hey, wait a minute. Ken Lay was a veteran. He fought for our freedom to maximize shareholder profits. That would be sacrilegious to piss on his grave. I think my head is going to explode. ...CBC's audience is getting smaller and smaller. But the swivel servants and mandarinate in the place that fun forgot actually think having it around is 'good for us' somehow. I'd kill the funding tomorrow.yonge said:Canada is the only supposedly non communist country that would support and I mean support big time a a piece of crap like the CBC.
agree....Creed & Money was his sole Motivator. Now what happens to those fat-assed Oil Exec's or Banking pricks, probably nothing, but they are ripping-off consumers none the less....Svend said:I think people should be bussed in from around the country to piss on his gravesite.
Someone could get rich on this idea.
I doubt such an infamous person as he would be able to get away with it.yonge said:How bout @ million for a death certificate from some sleazy coroner then off to Brazil???
I spent decades in the biz world, and while I met and had to deal with a large number of scumbags, the vast majority of execs are honest and try to do the right thing.mmouse said:Lay is just a typical exec. Motivated by greed and profit? Damn right! Like every other corporate leader. Enron put profit ahead of ethics but guess what? That's what corporations do! It's their responsibility to shareholders. The onlydifference with Lay & Enron is they had some different ideas of how to make money which, while creative, were high risk, so the company went belly up.
Go easy on the guy. Morally, 9/10 people in his position would have acted the same way, while in fact 1/1000 people have the ablity and ambition to rise up the corporate ladder as high as he did.
If you want to vilify someone, pick a politician e.g. Bush.
(but man, the scumbags I met were really something).peelcowboy said:Bear669, you mean the execs wanted to do the right thing for themselves! I too have dealt with business leaders for decades and while most of them are not the crazy crooks the Enron boys were; if the decision came down to "Okay, employees, suppliers, shareholders or ....................... me?" The answer was always "me" 100 out of 100. The right thing will NEVER be the thing that doesn't benefit the exec.
ken lay was an asshole who harmed a huge number of people out of sheer unadulterated greed.yonge said:Ken Lay Former Chairman of Enron is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!
