I was just echoing comparison to Hitler drawn by some of the
folks here to Putin in case you are not aware of it.
Argument that Putin is the Hitler of our time has as much merit as comparison
of Zelensky to Winston Churchill and Donald Trump to Neville Chamberlain. In
the real world Zelensky will more likely end up meeting the same fate as Benito
Mussolini and Trump is merely an opportunist who is hell bent on stealing resources
from an invaded country through peace by extortion. But our leaders and segments
of the media want us to buy their version of events for our tacit approval of them
sending our money to Ukraine to prolong the war.
I am glad if I were wrong. Perhaps anti-Putin folks have already come
to realize Putin is no Hitler but merely a dictator involved in a regional
conflict with his neighbor. Hopefully by next year relation with Russia
will return to normal.There is a chance Ukraine will be no more by then.
But that is the price to pay to destroy tens of thousands of Russian
invaders' lives which we will have to come to terms with. Ukrainian
lives are just collateral damage that I am sure Zelensky and his fan
boys won't regret.
I agree, and the comparison of these guys to those figures is just silly.
Like I said, all understanding of the conflict is theoretical.
One thing I'm convinced in my own mind, is that Putin's invasion was not empire motivated
and that he was provoked.
Different theories for the provocation:
a) Getting Ukraine into NATO
b) Baiting Putin into a war to assess what kind of response and how far they would go, tactical assessment
c) Pushing Europe into a corner to increase NATO spending because U.S. is diverting resources to South China Pacific region and Middle East
d) All of the above
