I'm a geek, and a privacy geek, so I only surf stuff like this on my own network, which I control. All of my devices also have strong passwords (and public systems have guest accounts) and nobody gets onto my personal accounts (and my files are private). This has never seemed odd to the people I've dated because I am a privacy geek, and I don't like people messing with my user accounts on devices.

The big problem is for the folks that don't have a history of strongly separated user accounts. Suddenly demanding separate accounts would seem 'odd'. If you had to, I'd suggest blaming your SO for messing up your stuff then setting up separate accounts with passwords. (Also make sure you control the router and have it set up correctly, and know what software is running where.)

Beyond that, practice good privacy hygiene on all of your devices.
You don't sound like you have anything "privacy geek" like. And you don't "control" your own network unless you own and operate and have sole access to an ISP. Which you don't. As I said 99.9 % of women will not be able to track anything.

There is a product called I believe Easysurf, or Surfeasy. It can be googled. It is a plug in that will set up a seperate isp for you. Price is 69.99 and 29.99 per year. Maybe you want to look into it.

Seriously just browse on your smartphone over its own connection.

This is the same as the surfing from work problem. We all used to use proxies and vpn's ten years ago, but now that we all have our own internet connection in our pockets there is no longer any need for such games.

The discussion is about home networks, wi fi, routers and local devices and keeping your usage history private from your SO. The discussion is NOT about the NSA, CSIS, black hats and boogiemen. In the given context, it's just fine to say you "control" your own network like TOM does. Go pick some other nits.

You mean you still live at home with your parents?
I was thinking the exact same thing...lol, but didn't want to mean cause a) we don't know how old he is and b) we don't know his situation. Sometimes life throws you a curveball that's beyond your control

No that's true. But even if he's in his 20's he should've at least had a trial experience of living on his own for a short period of time. There's a difference between having always lived at home with the parents or living on your own and then having to move back home for financial reasons.
