On Sunday a new schedule went up and I saw that there was someone I have wanted to meet was on a schedule that would actually work. Available time, day and location all lined up perfectly.

Texts and phone call exchanged Sunday and booked thinking - amazing it worked out this time.

Woke up today and 🤧😷🤒.

Booking was for Thursday afternoon and I briefly considered waiting till tomorrow to cancel. Maybe I would be better?

Then I figured, no, I should cancel now and give them every chance to find another booking. I don't want to take the chance that I show no improvement and leave them with little time to find someone to take my time.

Been a few hours now I BET it is already booked.

I do not remember having to cancel like this before, especially for a first time booking.

Just a reminder to please be considerate of the rest of the industry, if you are sick please cancel as soon as you figure it out.

It’s a good practice to cancel ASAP so that the person has time to either find another booking or get a refund if they had to rent a space.

Don’t forget to respectfully ask the person if it’s possible to reschedule.

If you want to go the extra mile, you can even either send a sorry gift or bring one the next time. Of course this step is very facultative.

Sarcasm is great.
I guess if the Lady is unavailable, shutup and take what we have, no sorry or anything.

Respect to you @TDLTAYA for the accountability. Read plenty reviews of your legendary service and this takes it a notch up

Coincidentally, I had to cancel an appointment today. At the last minute, I had intestinal issues. Life happens, and we have to protect our providers and ourselves. All the best to the op and I hope he gets better very soon.
This is why I dislike the providers who take a Deposit to secure your booking; and the Deposit is non-refundable.

This is the Deposit policy verbatim from one providers website; as she does not pay to advertise on TERB, I will not link the website:

I ask for a 25% deposit for all bookings. This can be sent via e-transfer to [redacted]. If you are unable to send an e-transfer, please contact me to make alternate payment arrangements.

Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel with ample notice (48h+), the deposit may be put towards a rescheduled date made within 3 months of the original date.** If you cancel within 48 hours of our date, I will keep the deposit as a cancellation fee.
Here is another example:

A $100 deposit is required to book and can be sent through e-transfer, Paypal or electronic gift card. If you cancel with over 24 hours notice then your deposit will be put toward our new date. You may reschedule once and it must be within 4 weeks of the original date. If you cancel within 24 hours or less then your deposit is not put toward a new date and is not returned.
Now, the justification for these policies is that the SP views her time equivalent to a professional such as a Dentist; time=money; and if you do not give me ample notice of cancellation I lose money and I need to be compensated for the time somehow.

As @shakenbake has demonstrated, sometimes shit [pun intended] does happen and you do have to cancel at the last minute. I personally think these types of policies are ridiculous.

You did the right thing. Intestinal issues and sexy time don’t go hand in hand
Especially if she's the one with the intestinal issues and provides Greek.. LMAO
Although...
I'd had my fair share of ..shall we say..
Misadventures..:)

Some of us have to rent a space to host you, if you cancel last minute, we’re supposed to just absorb the fees?

If you cancel less than 24 hours before the appointment I don’t see anything wrong with not refunding or transferring the deposit.

As I said in my post, which you quoted, I understand the justification for these types of policies; it's a mitigation of financial risks.

If you can have this type of policy and run an effective business doing so, more power to you.

I'll put the cash on the dresser when I arrive at the Incall prior to any action taking place; but, I personally refuse to pay a deposit in advance of the appointment, and there are plenty of options out there which will accommodate that.

I don't think the subject of deposits should be so controversial.

Don't book providers that want a deposit if that is your choice, seems pretty simple. I understand this is what you are saying farquhar.

If there is someone I want to see that has a deposit requirement I will send it I haven't lost one yet and have been able to modify or postpone when something happened.

Just my experience so far

You walk and say I'll book the lady I want another time
If a deposit was sent?..ask it to be returned
If no deposit was given..then no harming foul...
It's on the agency for not producing so any costs incurred should be absorbed on them not you...

I am ok with small deposits for well reviewed SP but I wouldn’t ever do a deposit that wasn’t nominal.

IMO, it Seems a shame to miss out on a great SP over a trivial deposit, but to each their own and I completely get it.
