For one I was supporting your statement............it's either he doesn't care or is stupid/ignorant to know what he's doing...I don't know how anyone who has spent their entire life doing one thing, doing it well and being famous for it, could not regret selling himself out and everyone around him. If you dedicated your life to baseball for 20 plus years, the lifestyle, the social events, the people, your teamates .....and then none of it is there anymore, and everyone you knew, played with and against want nothing to do with....how can that not bother you?? it's almost as though all those years never existed, because none of that will close to you again..... all of you that are reading this now, look at where you work and how long you've been there, how would you feel if when you left your company, that not one person would call you, or you them. Knowing that you're not wanted or liked.....I know I would hate it.....................wasted years.....

People change careers around 7 times in a working life. That's career, not job. Some less, some more. Don't live your life by FORMER co-workers. As long as one has the love of family and frineds (outside of work) the rest doesn't amount to a whole lot. I am more then my career.

We all know he's retired, but what escohort I believe was saying that he won't be talked about highly nor invited to anything to do with baseball..........he won't be remembered as a big power hitter for the Oakland A's, but only as a slimmy rat!! Being the first 40-40 man carries alot of weight - a lot of players make the hall based on one outstanding particular season. It's rare but it does happen
