That song Hurt is terrible. CFNY 102.1 plays it every day, as a joke...on the other hand love that Audioslave song, Cochise...excellent tune :)

Hurt is a remake of the NIN (Nine Inch Nails) tune of the same name. I think it is actually quite interesting. Hard to imagine Cash remaking a song by Trent Reznor.

...to me he's the Miles Davis of country. His life, like Miles, was a constant fight with Demons and they both have been down and out numeous of times. I give Johnny Cash credit for never giving up...

I love his version of Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Coming Down". Now that hurtin music from a guy who's been there.

That song is alright, but it sounds exactly like a Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden collaboration! By forming the group, couldn't they have come up with a slighly different sound, to capitalize on something fresh?

ever since johny started recording with the lable 'american recordings' he has done some interesting stuff. this is his forth album with them, and they're all produced by the same guy too (i think it's rick ruben, but don't quote me on it.)

anyway, over the four albums he's done some great remakes, like: rusty cage by sound garden, i won't back down by tom petty, one by u2, sollitary man by neil diamond, etc. and this current album ('the man comes around') has the most recognizable covers by far, including: bridge over troubled water, personal jesus, desperado, in my life, danny boy, and a few more. it's really worth picking up if your in the mood for something a little different.

and yes v12, sunday morning coming down rocks. so does fulsome prison blues.

another funny piece of triva on johny with a canadiana twist: he proposed to his wife on stage in london ontario.

take it easy kids.
