Kudos to you for finding the clip.

John Stewart certainly came out swinging. The boys at Crossfire obviously thought he would be their comedic "monkey" but Stewart had an agenda and he brought it to them.

Always thought so, but Stewart confirmed it, Tucker Carlson is a dick(head - I'm sure Stewart meant dickhead but just couldn't say it).
What can you expect from a guy who wears a bow tie (and is not Orville Redenbocher).

As for Crossfire, I don't bother watching it. Never get anything out of it; all rhetoric and no useful information.
I rather watch Nightline instead!

Unlucky for Stewart that Novak wasn't there that night. Stewart has had a bone to pick for a long time with Novak, calling him repeatedly a douchebag on the Daily Show. But Novak probably ducked and ran as soon as he found out that Stewart was slated to be a guest.

p.s. Stewart is married with child... sorry angelina.

CNN has no credibility anymore, nor does the American electoral process, as evidenced by the last presidential election...go to BBC for coverage of world affairs or MSNBC for domestic American coverage...IMO

I don't like how Stewart went on about how his show is not meant to be taken seriously and he has no responsibility to the public because he is on the comedy network and the show that leads up to his show is a puppet show.

Lots of people listen to him for the "real" news because they are fed up with CNN, FOX, etc... and he just put them all down.

That's exactly his point.. They shouldn't be watching his show for the news, that's not it's purpose. That is why he was ragging on the Crossfire guys, because they are supposed to be the ones giving the news, not him. CNN's journalists pick up the paycheques for the news, not Jon Stewart. Just because people use him as a source of the news, does not mean he is one, or should be. It just shows they don't want to watch "real" news, for whatever reason.

I love his show, and Stewart is right on in my eyes.

You would not want to have a battle of wits with Stewart.

He's dead on about that idiotic cross fire show for sure. I can't put a finger on it, but Tucker Carlson just annoys the piss out of me. He's like the kid at elementary school who was an odd ball, only now he's on TV.

Newsspeak in to label anything that questions authority "liberal".

If by a miracle Kerry should win the election, will the neo-cons, who I suppose will question the policies of the government, also be "liberal"?

I love watching Stewart, and yes it is comedy, but he definitely has a slant to his comedy. Tag it anyway you want, liberal etc, but just because it is comedy does not preclude it from being liberal.

Jon was very funny, he was a bit pointed and showed up with a message to deliver. He took after Tucker because Tucker took after him, the Left guy was too scared to draw fire. The bow tie line was very funny.

The interesting thing was that Tucker took after him about sucking up to Kerry (which he did) and Jon’s response was that he’s just a comedy show (which is correct). The scary thing is I think many people mistake his show for real news and information – which might be the most disingenuous bait and switch of all. But it is a damn funny show.

Jon has the easy job, making fun of politicians isn't terribly challenging - you can't make up the stupid things they do to themselves.

I pretty much agree with your assessment OTB. Not sure about the B & S angle though. The fact that some mistake his show for "real news" - is really much more of a statement about those individuals, than it is about the purpose or intent of his show.
