I've been downloading occasionally from Puretna/Bitcomet and also some from empornium.us/Bitcomet. For a long time everything was fine and the videos were fully continuous and smooth. But recently the videos have been jerky or worse. Sometimes its so bad that it amounts to just a series of long still shots. IIt may be that it mainly happens with productions like Milfhunter.com. have to believe I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Does anyone know if there's a fix so I can make the videos play smooth and continuous?

Seems I've answered my own question - sorta, to give me a somewhat inconvenient, but workable solution to the problem. If I remove all other applications and then play the video, it is absolutely continuous and smooth. Apparently I don't have enough cpu capability to get the desired performance unless I have this as the only application, or at least have it as one of only a few applications.

1) Slow CPU... check the task manager while running the videos. Especially concerning the new HQ (high quality) video files now being downloadable.
2) Bad or outdated codec...Do you know what codec the video files are using? You can download Gspot to show you all the codecs used in media files. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
3) Old video drivers...
4) Hard drive needing to be defragged.
5) Hard drive not in DMA mode
6) BIOS -> Cache might need to be set to "write back" instead of "write thru".
7) Could be a conflict with another software installed. Can you tell if the problem started after a specific moment? Installation of xyz app...

Real Player trying to elbow in
Just thought it might be interesting to know that one video was still jerky no matter what i did until I realized it was because the aggressive Real Player had somehow taken over as the video player for that one over my usual Windows Media Player. Once I got it to play on Windows, the jerkiness disappeared. Real Player has caused me problems in the past. It seems they'll stop at nothing to become the default player.

Real Player One, is a pain loaded with crap as you have found out.
I still use an older version of Real Player, NOT Real One, once in a while and refuse to upgrade it for the reasons you discovered. Sometimes you need it for its different format.

Don't forget that spyware and BHOs (Browser Helper Objects, more commonly known as all the fancy toolbars you can install to Internet Explorer) also can take up resources. Doing a sweep with a reliable anti spyware software might ferret out things that are eating up your resources.
Finally, and most important - don't use Microsoft Media Player. It absolutely EATS resources, especially the vista version. JetAudio is a good player, and for something very simple you could always use VLC media player.
