Well who would know better than you Goober. After all when you strip away all this "Goober McFly, moderator-at-large, Lord of the Nerds, super-internet persona crap" aren't you really Ken Jennings?

It's official, Ken The Jeopardy Guy lost.

Heard the rumor before they even showed the Tournament of Champions (in Sept?). The rumor was game 75, $2.5 mill.

I wonder if they'll invite him to next year's Tournament of Champions?

Found it a little bit suspect when he blew a bunch of points guessing Verdun as a major battle in December 1944, instead of Bastogne. Not even the right war. I wonder if he wanted out as much the Jeopardy people also wanted him gone.

I don't think Jeopardy ever had any restrictions, until Ken came along.

As Tiger said, wasn't the limit (appearances/amount) announced quite some time ago?

According to Ranger, Ken was outplayed, he blew final Jeopardy. That's like losing in a shoot-out.

Some of my relatives are convinced that Ken Jennings was fed answers, sort of like Ralph Fiennes in "Quiz Show", to build interest. They question how a Mormon (I know he lives in Utah but I don't know if it was established he was a Mormon) could know so much about popular culture and even about alcoholic drinks. I personally just thought the guy was really bright, and obviously had good reflexes.

Anyway, he lost on a very lame question...

The subject was 'Business and Industry', and the question was along the lines of:

This company's 70,000 employees only work 4 months out of the year

Ken wrote "What is Fed Ex?" which upon even slight inspection makes absolutely no sense. He did not appear upset at all about it, so maybe the folks who think he had just had enough are right.

The correct question was "What is H&R Block?", which of course, makes perfect sense.

For the very longest time, the rule was a contestant would be retired undefeated after 5 wins. I didn't know about the change until this walking encyclopedia came along.

Yeah, I was a bit stunned that he blew such an easy question, but he just may not be much of a war history buff.
I think he just blew it - three questions (two Daily Doubles and the Final) killed him.

I don't think he was very broken up about leaving, but I don't think he did it on purpose.

Hey, at least *someone* understands!
LOL

Yup. Outplayed = lost.

I'm glad I can be talked about so much even when I'm not around. I must be doing something right, stirring up such debate. Ahhhh .... it warms my heart. :)
