I like the B&W shot the best. Seems to capture the right mood more so than the colour shots. Shot #0037 is also quite interesting. If I might be so bold with a bit of criticism, generally I thought the backdrops detracted from Jenn's skin tone.

On a different note, I too like your choice of camera body. Do you prefer the 80 - 200 over a fixed 135mm? I was told that the D100 adds about 17mm to the lens because of the way the CCDs are configured. So a 50mm ends up working like a 67mm lens. Is this true?

With all due respect, they look like snapshots to me. More could have been done with respects to lighting and framing the figure. With Photoshop 7, it's the equivalent of playing God with images. Now, I understand that we as hobbyists do want to see the real deal and any Santillo-like manipulations can easily distort the beholder's perspective. That being said, pro (or even semi-pro) photography should not look like it came out of someone's photo album.

Hats off for calling it as it is Starbuck. Paul, so you're a professional photographer eh? Well if that's professional all you ladies should go find yourself an amateur. You have no concept of photography, lighting, background and none whatsoever of the concept of how to capture your subject's more flattering features (though with this subject I admit that would be difficult). Oh my GAWD, the girl looks like an addict with track marks on her arms. Go take some lessons in photography Paul before you place yourself in the same category of the true professionals.
Slademan, you're an idiot. How can any of you possibly think that these are good potographs. Stop kissing ass guys.
Jenn, if that's good then what would you consider bad? I guess when you're in high school even a $2 bottle of wine could taste like a $1000 vintage to the inexperience.

But, I do appreciate constructive criticsm.

The D100 is a superb camera, and with the function pack, the ergonomics are outstanding.

But the real joy is in the Nikon Lenses, especially the
80 / 200mm / 2.8 AF DED.

Great camera!

It's a great camera but the photog has a way to go. You obviously have to learn about lighting and posing and should look at one of the workshops offered by Glenn Specht.

They go from basic lighting to glamour to nude posing. Have a lok at his web page. These are usually one-day sessions with models and well worth it. I don't have the URL handy. just google him.

Also, the real challenge is SPs who don't want to show their face . .

You know... I am by no means a "fan" of JA/Aphrodite but you gotta admit:

o she has done a good job with her "rebirth" and resisting the "rip 'em a new one" button.
o I think that fair skin can be totally gorgeous, especially when highly lit (not a photogapher... but I think Nicole Kidman was made into the most ethereal beauty I have ever seen in Moulin Rouge with similar, though *much* better done, effects).

I think his photo's belong in the joke thread. Paul do you really consider yourself an amateur? Your pictures look like a fucking Kodak moment. Damondean, WTF is up with that Anya classic chick? you call that a dream to work with? She looks like a crack whore! Get a life you amateurs wannabees and leave it up to the pros. At least they know how to take a picture and can make an average chick look like a hot woman.

As for playing god... Or other special effects. No altered pictures will be used as a promotional tool for me.

Ya can't turn JennAngel into Aphrodite (in the literal sense), regardless of the pseudonym. The playing God comment was in reference to the ability of Photoshop (in the right hands, of course) to recreate/repair what was lacking from the pics in the first place. That being said, it would have only brought the pics to a somewhat reasonable standard.

Photographers are merely just that. They aren't magicians with the ability to make a purse out of a sow's ear, Santillo notwithstanding...

The only alterations I allow are warming and cooling effects which nuteralize under or over exposure.

I must be blind... I don't see the results.

The ones which showthe range of versatility are for PW to use. Not ad pics for myself.

As for Santillo quality... Though I would love to have them for some things, the slightly more real pictures are much better in my opinion for advertising. I have until now used pictures which were taken on "Off days" meaning I would never be unable to live up to the pictures I used.

In other words, you loath the challenge to look and feel your best? That's a defeatist attitude if I ever saw one. What woman does not want to look and feel her best? I must be missing something here.
