Anybody else watch this? I had almost zero expectations when I watched the pilot but was pleasantly surprised. The entire premise is absurd - Van Damme plays himself as an older, washed up action star - who in reality was always a black ops operator ("Jean Claude Van Johnson") using acting as a cover. He comes out of retirement to pursue the love of his life - resuming his deep cover-role as an action movie star while working for a secret government organization. In the pilot - he ends up working on a movie that is a politically correct update of Tom Sawyer (complete with a woman as either Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn (I wasn't paying attention) and "N-word Jim"). Lots of funny bits, including a running gag about Time Cop vs Loopers. Also a lot of sendups about Van Damme's lack of any real acting ability. Anyway, I thought it was worth the 1/2 hour - will probably watch the next couple episodes to see if the writers can maintain the pace of jokes.

For those of you too young to know that Van Johnson was a well known actor:

Yeah - he was one of the central characters in “The Caine Mutiny” which had one of Humphrey Bogart’s greatest roles Captain Queeg.

I thought the name JC Van Johnson was a play on Van Dammes dick. Eg: the time he got a stiffee on live European TV during a dancing with the stars type segment.

Anyway, watched some more and it’s pretty funny. Eg: N-word Jim has a fling with Van Johnson’s love interest so Van Damme complains to the director that N-word Jim’s name is offensive. The director has no clue why but eventually agrees - so fires the black actor and replaces him with a Chinese Kung fu star. (The Tom Sawyer re-make is morphing into an ultra violent low budget action flick set in the 1800’s - “From the vision of Mark Twain.... Get HUCKED!”)

Watched the rest. Pretty good, although the first few episodes are much funnier than the last. Hope it gets picked up for another season.

What I really hope is that somebody will actually make the movie within the tv show: Huckleberry Finn (played by Van Damme) along with his sexy lover (Tom Sawyer, played by a hot blonde actress), and loyal sidekick “C-word Jim” (played by a Chinese Kung Fu movie star, who replaced “N-word Jim” because the name was offensive and to increase the Asian marketing appeal). It’s a sendup of a typical Van Damme film - filmed in Bulgaria with a stoned director and low budget. Huck Finn is an action hero, fighting slavery with his spinning kicks and the magic glowing paintbrush (likely a time machine) of sexy Tom Sawyer. Get HUCKED! Totally insane.
