Big time move for sure, would have loved Valdez to give us a lefty. But Cease has a great history of staying healthy and big time K/Rate. He will fit right in, and with a terrific defense behind him, his numbers will look even better.

I wouldn't close the book on Scherzer yet - they will want a little more starting pitching depth, especially if they keep Yesavage on some sort of limit next season. Another 1 year deal at maybe $10M is still really possible. That said, Jays just did their heaviest lifting outside maybe bringing back Bichette. Their payroll must be near $300M now.
