While the American CEOS traveled in private jets (costing $20,000 a flight) to beg US taxpayers for money, JAL's CEO slashed all of his benefits and salary because he thought it was unfair to ask older employees to retire early while he still kept them. I applaud him for his sacrifice.

Back in the day, Lee Iaccocca cut his salary to $1, when Chrysler was strugggling. That's the kind of leadership missing today in the big 3.

Lee was a class act, no doubt about it.

The only problem is that he's in his 80's and I wouldn't wish this BS or the goof balls who currently run Detroit on him.

But he can go to one of those private onsen (Hot Springs) with the prettiest women known to man wearing kimonos in Izu. That's the difference that CNN doesn't tell you, or in a better phrase, "doesn't know about". Hell, CNN never even heard of Izu. 伊豆半島は「ザ ベスト」だよ！

As for Lee Iaccocca, I was all up on that situation and as I've referred to in the CAW thread: the CAW went on strike for higher wages 3 weeks after Lee got the plants open and running again.....

Probably not. Sure, they might show up in Washington next time after taking a commercial flight for the sake of optics, but they still will live in a world of entitlement.

Even car dealerships are now asking for government support.

That man is truly a class act. The Fat Cats of the Big 3 should be ashamed and be forced to quit. They made me sick watching them not even bat an eyelash when asked if they would go back on a commercial flight.
