It's not as though the Bond books are anything other than trash to begin with. I read them back when they were actually new and best sellers and they were shit then. The movie franchise gave the books an undue extended life of fame. The books themselves are he-man adventure pulp. Most of Fleming's contempories in the genre didn't sell as well and certainly didn't get the movie deals and are long forgotten with other worthless pulp books.“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.”
Also if you are that sensitive that you can't handle a James Bond book [I've read them] then the problem is with you and not the books.
What's next, removing any references to the holocaust in Anne Frank's diary. Just a chick who loves attics bah.
Nothing has changed after watching those tweets. She's still a bigot.
Quite the times that we live in....
I wonder if we have ever had a country/society who started banning books, names, etc.? I am curious to see if everything turned out well.“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. I’ve read five of Ian Flemings James Bond books, there ok but I’m a big fan…the movies are way better. It's not as though the Bond books are anything other than trash to begin with. Ok, but all books are not equal. Betcha there were 100's of pulp detective novels published in the 1920's that used the n-word in its most derogative sense and portrayed women as simpering, fainting, brainless playthings. They also said stuff about Jews and Asians that would be unheard of today - or 30 years ago. These have no redeeming intellectual or artistic value. They're probably all 80 years out of print and got recycled for papier mache around 1940.I wonder if we have ever had a country/society who started banning books, names, etc.? I am curious to see if everything turned out well.
So you never saw James Bond in a theatre, rented it on VHS or DVD or whatever medium, because you thought they were "racist and crude"?[/QUOTE]Seems pretty restrained, given how racist and crude those books actually were.

It will all be captured in history and immortalized on the internet though. Including the tearing down of statues and why they were done with video evidence of protests etc.,I can't find the right word now but I think that re-writing books, tearing down statutes of bad people etc does a disservice to the future of our civilization. We need to have these examples of where and how society used to be to see how we are progressing.
Just my opinion.
But you agree they're racist and crude though.Read my posts, Jubee. That's not what I wrote.
So, a drawing of 2 guys in bed together is "porn"?Why are explicit pornographic books, allowed in public school libraries? Seems hypocritical to me??
