The cbc website has been featuring at least 2 stories a day on Jack Layton every day for at least the last 3 days. (But the CBC has been radicalized in the last decade or so).

I think they should name a public housing building after him. Even if you think he paid market ( ya right) he took someone else's spot who needed it more. The guy was a great public speaker and had one election success - otherwise he accomplished nothing of significance, championed no legislation. There are many Canadians who have died in the last few years who are way more deserving of our thoughts.

You don't have a clue. The building was meant to be mixed use. The market rate occupants subsidize the rest. If you don't have a clue, why post?

If you think the cbc is radicalized towards the left you've been hanging around Tories for too long. The CBC is filled with Liberal Party boot lickers for ages now, its no more aligned with the NDP then the Sun News Network.

Jack did in fact have achievements. The NDP budget that put billions of dollars towards helping people, including forgiegn aid that saved lives, he helped put together the accountablity act, even though Harper shit all over it, he rebuilt the NDP into a powerful electoral machine, he did what many said couldn't be done, he won Quebec and official opposition status and transformed the national political map in the process, he crushed the careers of a Liberal leader and Bloc leader, he,got that wind mill up in Toronto as a momument to clean energy, he inspired millions with his letter to believe that a better future was possible, he wrote two bestselling books, he created the climate change act which those cock suckers in the Senate crushed raping the tatter remains of our democracy in the process. He achieved more with his life than any of you ever will and he's a better man then anyone here.

Quick question,...do you vote NDP ???

Exactly. I'm getting sick of people cluelessly attacking Layton and chow for this. I'm a massage chick who's new to Toronto yet I get the issue more than a few intelligent long-term residents of this city.

Wake the fuck up.

Boys - their building was a co-op. Gold star for them for paying market rate and living amongst people who were less fortunate. They stole no one's place.

Stop relying on bs arguments that are way off-base. I know you know better.

"Yet" you get the issue?

That's likely false modesty. In my biased view, a massage chick who's new to Toronto probably gets current affairs at least as well as some of the city's councillors, such as Adam Vaughan. Probably more than councillors like Mr. Vaughan, in fact.

I think Jack had a good heart. Thank goodness he was never Minister of Finance as good hearts are very expensive.
