Last Xmas, a BMW, and a Ducati motorcycle were stolen from my Condo garage. Not my BMW and Ducati BTW.

A lot of these involve criminals on criminals, looking for cash and drugs.

That being said my metal door, with anchored frame, and security glass are in place.

And I would never answer a door for a masked person.

I had a Door Dash guy appear at my door, so he said. I have never ordered Door Dash in my life. I told him that he had the wrong place through the door. It is better to be safe than sorry. These days you never know.

I am way more worried about id theft than at the door theft.
Because way more of our net worth lives in our brokerage accounts than anything in the place we call home.

If they bust in the door today they will find a treat though.
I am cutting up and packaging gift boxes of home made Christmas fruit cake
I baked them in June and the kept them in the cold cellar and added a shot of brandy to each cake monthly.

If the boozy fruit cakes distracts them I will splash a bit of the concentrated citronella oil on them.
I have it on hand to reinnervate the bug repelling summer patio candles.

Then I wont have to pick anyone out of a lineup, just have the cops literally sniff them out.

If you accidentally get this this on you it takes about 2 weeks to wash the smell away.
Don't ask how I discovered that last bit...

Isn't using fruitcake as bait against Ag & Market laws?

This is why you keep a gun in your possession at all times inside your domain. They break-in and you have the greenlight to embark on target practice! 🤣

Yeah, it`s a shame Canada is so soft on crime. Violent criminals need to be ruthlessly eliminated.
People broke into my house while my mother was dying of cancer. Picked the one time when she, my paternal unit and myself were out of the house. Pretty sure the hot chick across the way told her drug dealing boyfriend about it and they scoped the joint, and their search pattern suggested they were looking for meds the good stuff. Also nice suberb area, we were the only house broken into the 20 years we were there.

Fuck human rights, human rights are for humans. I want them tortured slowly, even 25 years later.

My apartment in Hamilton was broken into, I lived downtown on the corner of King and Crack. Again, even decades later, I still want them tortured slowly. I was living in a slum and in dire financial straights, they took what little I had of value left. I ended up moving back home [out of province] after that, just one more fail to push me over the edge.

Then you get these twat monkeys who will do a thousand dollars of damage to your car to take 2 bucks in pocket change, [I know someone] or steal a backback for maybe 5 bucks of pawnable stuff that cost me a few hundred to replace with utterly no regrets.

ANd save me this financial incel "if they had a stronger welfare state they wouldn't do it" bullshit, you know exactly what they were stealing the money for and it's no fucking excuse to go stealing anyways

Criminals like people who have a pistol lying around loaded?

I really wonder at how fear riddled the posters who post like Rambo are.
It `aint fear, it`s reality. When seconds count, the police are minutes away. Recall the line from the Clash`s Guns of Brixton...When they kick in your front door, how you gonna come?, with your hands on your head or the trigger of your gun?. The context was different then but more powerful than ever now. You do you, best of luck.

Canada would be a much better place if criminals like you describe were simply "disappeared". They are parasites that serve no purpose or use to society.
