I know there are a few SPs in TO from Israel. Anybody have info on the SP scene in Israel. Heard Tel Aviv is where to be.

While surely some percentage of sp's in Israel are there consentually, Israel does have serious problems with human trafficking and their enforcement record on cracking down on known traffickers and rescuing kidnapped women is pretty bleak.j_anderson said:

Edit: An authoritative work on human trafficking, The Natashas, absolutely slams Israel. It's important to note, though, that the author constantly and consistently differentiates being against prostitution in general and being against prostitution involving trafficked and nonconsentual parties.

The sex trade in Israel is dominated by the Russian mafia. There are EE girls here who have also been trafficked through Israel. If you see EE girls here at Russian agencies you are also part of the trade. I love this expression, 'to sell one's body'. I'm not marketing my body as available for sale - only loan. If anyone left with an arm, leg, or other member I might find myself slightly distressed.

Not only are there significant barriers against simply going to the police (physical restraint, threats against her well being and the well being of other ladies in captivity, threats against her family back home, language barriers, etc), in several trafficking-rich countries the general pattern following a woman coming forward is such:
Go to police
get charged with prostitution, or some bylaw surrounding it in Israel's case
be unable to produce a passport/visa to legally be in the country
possibly go to jail
get deported
while the trafficker may not ever actually face a charge!
Not only that, there have been several incidents where the cops or members of the nation's military themselves frequent the illegal brothels! Imagine how daunting it would be to then go and talk to someone you've been forced to fuck about being forced to fuck.
It's really a much more murky issue than simply coming forward and being rescued.
