Netanyahu does not want an end to this war. Apparently, Hamas were seriously considering releasing the rest of the Israeli hostages, in exchange for the numerous Palestinians still under arrest in Israel and an indefinite ceasefire. But we all know if the war ends then Netanyahu will then be under full investigation into Trump like corruption allegations. The Israeli Law will then not have any roadblocks like Johnson the Senate Chief who is protecting Trump!!
But this botched attempt by Israel did not achieve the goals that they intended. The Hamas negotiators are still alive and only five lower rank Hamas staff were killed. A Qatar Security Guard was also killed and several other Qataris were injured. The Whitehouse knew in advance about this strike and claimed falsely that they warned the Qatari Government in advance. The Qatari Government refuted it by saying that only when the Israeli bombing began did they then start getting this info from the US Government:
