Does anyone know what rechipping means - pros and cons and cost? Also looking for a decent place to get this done for a Honda.

Rechipping is the replacement or reprogramming of a chip on the controller board.
The difference can be dramatic if the car has a turbo, otherwise it is minor, for Audis anyway.
Most turbos can handle some added boost but in some cases the turbo is replaced as well as some other parts.
Usually it involves removing the box containing the board and shipping it to a company to have the chip either reprogrammed or replaced.
Some manufacturers will install a small circuit board with a bit of anti-piracy circuitry.
The cost starts at around $500 US.
I have an Audi A4 1.8t which I chipped.
The difference is not noticeable when driving moderately but when you open it up in any gear, the boost is dramatically greater, like night and day.
There are several companies who offer products for Audis because many Audis have turbos.
The chips offered for non-turbo Audis are apparently not worthwhile, if they are even available anymore.

my advice is to look around hard before you buy. i've found some cheap websites from to u.s. that, even with the exchange rates, can hook you up for less than the local tune shop.
i assume you know that when you chip your car the fuel milage will suffer. also you might look into doing some in-take work. aparently most chips are meant to work with a p-flo system of some kind. otherwise they tend to run a little lean.

in almost all cases, rechipping voids your warranty...but depending on the mods you've already done, that 's probably a moot point.
last year, i got bitten by the audi bug when i watched my boss smoke a couple of porsche's at shannonville in his S4...

All this Audi talk, i was curious how much a A8 costs.? I too drive a Honda and would not trade it for the world, well maybe a MB slk 230 AMG!!!!
The A8 is a big boat that costs over $100k, 110k-120k I think.
The S4 is awesome.
I can only imagine what it must be like chipped.
If you want something a little bigger the A6 2.7T (same engine as S4) is very nice.
Either will set you back around $70k.
Make sure you get the Quattro.
I can't imagine why anyone would get an Audi and not get the Quattro all-wheel drive.
It should not even be an option, and for some models, it is not.
