My TV's been acting up lately-Figured it's time to get a new one. Budget is around $1000.00 Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I agree. The Sony KV32FS120 32" Flat Screen TV is going for $789.99 (regular price is $899.99) at Future Shop so that should fit your bill with the taxes and all. A few year's ago, I bought a similiar TV for almost $1600. Great picture quality, easy to understand menus, and quite a few bell's-n-whistle's. Damn, these Sony TV's are heavy !!!

If you are not into quality, then avoid the big brands like SONY. This RCA 52" Digital Widescreen HDTV may fit your bill, but my experiences with RCA product's is not so good:

For a moderate priced quality TV I recommend Toshibas

Toshiba's are nicely priced and reliable, unlike RCA/GE(Thomson Electronics).

Toshiba, Panasonic, JVC are very good brands.
Sonys are overpriced and RCA suck CO*k.

Last month I to was shopping around for a TV. Almost every
sales person said Hitachi are the best projection TV`s and
Panasonic is a close second.
32"-36" Glass tube go with JVC.
