Question to the board.

Often times i am working late, really late, 9 pm, 10 pm or even like 1 or 2 in the morning. After a long day like that, i aint cooking anything.

Pizza frankly doesn't cut it.

I am curious to know if anyone knows of any good asian places that stay open really really late, maybe china town, or the west end, etc.

Would love to be able to swing by a great asian place for some soup and something good.

Pad Thai better yet.

Anyone know of any such places???

cheers

Yes...

If your downtown Lucky 7 or Happy 7 (cant remember the name) on Spadina Avenue is awesone.

West End - "Tremendous Resteraunt" its on Mavis or Wolfdate.... (Mississauga) cant remember the exact street. Very good - authentic Chinatown style food.

Hope this helps,

In Chinatown, Swatow, Excellent, and New Ho King all along Spadina.

re: downtown chinese food

Rol San is pretty good and as someone previously mentioned, New Ho King (plus they have a cute waitress there)

Downtown ...

Green Garden Restaurant - On Dundas (south side)/Bay. West of Bay. Open late. Nicely priced. Lots of space. Feels like some SPs frequent the place from the way some people are dressed.

Yueh-Tung - On Dundas (south side)/Bay. West of Bay. 2nd Floor above "Alfresco Cafe". Specialty = Manchurian Chicken (for those who like spicy). Lots of space.

Swatow - On Spadina (eastside)/Dundas. North of Dundas. Specialty = Noodles. Food comes to the table fast. Crowded, small area.

Kom Jug Yuen - On Spadina (eastside)/College. South of College. Specialty = BBQ Pork. Other stuff is kind of questionable.

These are low cost options ...

New Ho King (west side of Spadina, just south of College) has become my fav place, and I think they're open until about 3 a.m. I've tried many of the others mentioned on Spadina, (Happy 7, Rol San,, Lee Garden) and they're all good too, but I like NHK best. They do have a cute waitress, but she's married to one of the waiters/manager. They also have a free parking lot behind the place, which can be a real bonus in that area (although not a problem at 3 a.m.).

I love late night chinese food. Dowtown I go to Happy Palace on Dundas, I think it's about a block west of Huron on the north side, 2nd floor.

If you're north of the city, New Choice restaurant on hwy 7 just west of West Beaver Creek, (you can see the red sign from the road), is open till 4:a.m. Happy Palace is open til 3:00

gets busy after clubs

Our usual destination after some drinking and clubbing for some late night grub is Excellent Peking House on Spadina. Also previously mentioned Swatow is good as well.

Fiasco, you go to 2 of my 3 favorite Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. We certainly must have seen one another. :) Was that you eyeing my ex? LOL

You really should go to New Ho King. It really is the best of the 3. You have to get their famous chicken in a hot pot dish.

sure we've crossed paths

hey SMD,
Many a time I have considered going to one of the parties just to run into some of the people i have conversed with by PM and read about on here but just havent got around to going yet. Based on your past advice pms regarding MPAs to see and your excellent choice in restaurants I will definately check out New Ho King. If you're ever near IT the large chinese restaurant in the plaza at 7 and Leslie has best wonton noodle soup in toronto.

see you around
