I'm downloading an .ISO file of Encarta 2009
I have no clue what to do with it though

I dont wanna go the virtual drive rout since I have no idea how to do that
Can I just burn the ISO onto a DVD and then read the encyclopedia from there???

How does all this work??

yeah, just use nero or other burning program.

select burn image to disc , then you should be good to go.
pop it in like a normal dvd and watch/read from there.

But then how does the DVD drive read it??? Like a book in a .pdf format???

It has to use some program to view the encyclopedia, doesnt it???

It partially installs itself......don't need a reader

How big is it ? you might need a dual layer dvd

It's 2.6 GB wrapped, and about 3 or 4 GB unwrapped with winrar.

I think it can barely fit on one DVD disc

you don't need to unrar, an ISO is, as Norm said an exact image of the original
so you just burn it and its like you've got the original.
